"You are dead bug" please help

So I just died in a firefight in the middle of the night and the guy had a light on his rifle so I didnt have much of a chance anyway, however everytime I join a server and try to respawn as a fresh spawn it displays the "you are dead message" continuously. Any idea on how to make it go away?

Theres another thread about this somewhere and it seems youre not the only one.  Last I checked it, there wasnt a fix figured out, but there may be now.

Messing with the temporary files could help. Like remove a certain text file that contains your character info and just make a new character.

 

Did you try restarting steam?

Just keep server hopping, took me over an hour of being treated to 5 minute waits between servers before I found one that re-spawned me properly.

 

Have faith fellow members of the legion of the dead, your next life could be just a five minute wait away!!!!! Or maybe its the one after that!!!

I server hopped about 4 times and it fixed it for me. Actually 3 times. But what I did (which may be what fixed it) was change some of my clothes to my default character. Could try that?
