My two first deaths, Typical or neigh?

So I just died for the first two times and they were fantastic.

 

I was in a shore town looking for food because I was starving, i'm not sure if it was a group or not but I ran into two people, One I think was a new spawn and we just said hi and the other was in full military looking gear and asked if I had food while pointing his weapon at me. I told him I was actually looking for some myself. He said fair enough and left me be. My thirst started to get intense so I headed to the ocean to see if I could drink the water from there and randomly got sniped at the ocean from somewhere (Keep in mind all I had was a crowbar).

 

The second and most recent time I ran into another survivor on the road. Seemed decent although this time I was armed with a crowbar and weapon. We ran up to eachother and said hi. I had asked if he had a can opener because I was hungry and he said yes, tookout his axe and axed me while telling me how good an axe is to open cans.

Yup pretty typical...  Some will be friendly, some will just act friendly and kill you... while others will just snipe/KOS you randomly...

 

Be careful and don't trust anyone... ever.

I'd say those odds seem about right. I seem to have about a 1 out of 4 chance upon encounter with a person, that they will be hostile to me, unless I have some obvious tactical advantage over them (and even then it may not matter). I seem to have better luck then that on the coast, but there are people out there who go out looking to gear up then just kill random people, unarmed or not. Those types always remind me of that scene, in Schindler's list, where Amon Goeth is shooting prisoners from his balcony at the forced labor camp. I know it's just a game, but the act seems sick and despicable none the less.

You start off with good intentions.

 

You will get maimed, shot and killed repeatedly.

 

You then shoot people yourself.

I guess being killed by a player is a pretty typical death. First time I played I got beaten to death with a crowbar from behind by a sneaky player. The second character is still living and military-equiped. Bought DayZ SA yesterday.

If possible always keep moving with another player nearby.
