The Unfortunate Tale of the Dumb Bandit

So there i was in Berezino with my friend (@Doctor RayRay). We entered into the office building to look for a weapon to give to another one of our friend who was not online at the time. It's important to mention at this point that we were both very well geared up. RayRay had a fully kitted out M4, and I a Mosin with LR, bipod, and compensator.

We were both going for a blue/grey outfit to avoid the usual green military guy look. So i walk up the stairs, and I'm met by a guy brandishing a fire axe. I call out friendly, and he hits me with the axe. I tell RayRay (who's still downstairs) what just happened, and start running down the stairs.

I run out the building and begin to bandage while RayRay continues calling out friendly. I told RayRay just to shoot the guy because he obviously was hostile since he attacked me, but RayRay ignored me.

The axe-wielding bandit then charged RayRay, knocked him unconscious, and i could only watch helplessly as i was in the middle of bandaging. He then killed me as well.

RayRay and i both spawned back in with vengeance on our hearts. RayRay spawned in Solnichy, but i luckily spawned in Berezino. I ran straight for the office building. Finding no one there, i went to the top floor to try and find a gun. Luckily, i found a magnum and some .357 round in the same room.

I started heading downstairs as RayRay was approaching the building. He yelled out to me that there was a guy standing over our bodies that looked like the guy that killed us. I hurried down the stairs, and i soon as i laid eyes on him, i pumped 4 magnum rounds into his head and torso.

RayRay's M4 was nowhere to be found, but i was able to rightfully reclaim my Mosin and some of my loot.

So if you're that guy and you're reading this: Karma's a bitch

To everyone else: have you had similar experiences with seeking vengeance? Killing the guy was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had in DayZ so far

part of this story puzzles me...

 

You were chased by a axe wielder, who knocked your friend out.

Then instead of dealing with the axe wielder, you tried to bandage your friend.

No, but there was a funny instance where I was chasing down two unarmed players with an axe. I identified one by his backpack and had seen him raiding a grocery store in the city up the road. I was starving to death, but didn't realize I had my mic on mute. Funny thing was, they probably would have offered me food if I had been able to ask. I passed out from hunger in the middle of the road, and they beat me to death lol.

That's my dumb bandit story >.> I was the bandit all along! What a twist.

They had vengeance in their hearts? ;p

It was failed to mention that I honestly thought this guy panicked attacked Tizzle. I told him to stay still at some point but he was lagging around and I lost track of him and ended up with an axe in my head. We usually go for a friendly approach but I think I was too forgiving that time.

If you are being attacked and recieve damage, you must get to saftey or stop the attack before attempting anything else like healing.

Well you see, I thought I was in safety! I was safely out of the building and I assumed RayRay had it under control, then the guy started rubber banding and we were both dead.

@Skyline... Tizzle and I both have well over 150 hours logged, we understood the situation. Tizzle thought I had the guy held up so he attempted to bandage. I stopped considering the attacker a threat when he put his axe away. Then his axe suddenly hit me in the face.

Also while you state my experience on the forum, I suggest that this means you think you have enough experience.

Well I am well aware of desync issues and lag etc.

May I suggest that you should have taken this into account when dealing with an axe wielder who was clearly out to cause you harm.

Again, I think the dumb people in this situation is not the axe wielder but you and your buddy.

 

Also if you think my comments are useless, well you are entitled to your opinion. However, your little story obviously serves no purpose in relation to activley supporting the development of the game and could be construed as ussless.

That. That right there. That was a useless comment. Saying "please be aware that the game is in alpha" is useless. Every single one of your posts is something along those lines, just some technical talk that anyone else could post. And by the way, this is General Discussion. So I'm, ya know, discussing general topics.

Wonder why the M4 was gone then. Maybe he was nice enough to let somebody take it, but it somehow seems more likely to me that he took the M4 and split, then this other dude found your bodies at the wrong time.

Sorry but you both deserved to die, survival of the fittest. I mean the guy chopped you almost to dead with an axe and your friend keeps yelling 'friendly'???

 

Your friend should have killed him than and there without hesitating. You on the other hand should have bandaged out of his sight.

 

Try to learn from this experience and don't be so friendly, talk to people at a nice distance with cover and if you don't trust the guy than assault or withdraw, better him dead than you.

10 minutes ago...i walked in a school near berenzino.Lootet the building and 3mins later i hear someone walking around the building and searching for me.I waitet for him to see what person he is..

 

A guy with a little backpack and a fucking fireax in the hand,(nothing to loose)he see me in the room 3th floor, start running at me try to kill me and before he arrives at me i shootet him 40bullets in his fucking body. "Now you learn to talk firs, soab"!.

 

Normaly im friendly,but today im demon.
