Fps dropped since yesterday

Im sorry if this sounds like a noob question, but i was playing DayZ yesterday and getting around 40 fps. I've just went to play it and im getting 20 fps is there any reason its doing this ?

Did you go anywhere different to where you were when you had 40 fps? Towns and other places can cause an fps drop.

 

Did you change server? A laggy server might cause an fps drop.

 

Did you have any other applications running that weren't running first time around?

 

Did you change any of the video settings?

 

Too many variable to give a decent answer as to why it happened at the moment,

If not following patching it is likely due to a laggy server.

Nope same place, maybe just laggy severs il try others. thanks everyone for your help :)

I've also noticed my FPS has dropped from 40 down to 20-25 in the cities. out of the city im at 60

Keep in mind that if you made changes to your config file to optimize your graphic settings, they'll need to be reconfigured as new updates reset that file.  

 

Unfortunately, even after I've reverted my config files back to the old (working) settings, my FPS also tanked over the last week on the experimental builds.  I'm, more often than not, playing at 16fps now  :(
