FistofKremlin 12 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Okay, so being a fan and proud owner of the Mosin Nagant, upon doing some more research I came across a couple of Mosins that I think could fit right in to the weapon selection in this game since the Mosin can be hacked down into a pistol form and a carbine form. First is the Mosin SBR: Second Would be the Mosin 1938 Carbine: Edited February 4, 2014 by FistofKremlin
Dchil 829 Posted February 4, 2014 I would say yes to the Obrez, which is the sawn off but not the carbine. Just make it a different weapon, an 1938 model mosin is no more a cut down mosin 1891/30 than a SMLE No 5 is a cut down SMLE No 4.
FistofKremlin 12 Posted February 4, 2014 Yeah I wasn't too sure about the 1938 carbine, since it isn't cut down enough, but I do think the Obrez would be a perfect edition though since the sawed off shotguns have been added.
-Gews- 7443 Posted February 4, 2014 If they ever add an "obrez" they need to add the same function for many other guns... wouldn't make sense for the hacksaw not to work other rifles like Mausers, CZ550s, and 10/22s. And yes, sawed-off 10/22s are "a thing". ^ran across that last one on GhettoMyspace... : /
FistofKremlin 12 Posted February 4, 2014 Yeah if the Obrez became a thing I'm sure if they added rifles such as the Mauser or Springfield then there could be a SBR version too.
Dchil 829 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Of all the things to saw down. What is the point of doing that to a 10/22 unless you wan to put a suppressor on it and keep a standard-ish length. Then again Ruger created the Charger, a pistol version of the 10/22. Aftermarket stock kits are apparently quite popular over here for 'em because we can put a stock on a pistol. (certain kits may be illegal, please check your local laws) If they ever add an "obrez" they need to add the same function for many other guns... wouldn't make sense for the hacksaw not to work other rifles like Mausers, CZ550s, and 10/22s. You can hide it in a jacket and use it to threaten gas station clerks.

Chaingunfighter 917 Posted February 4, 2014 I don't know that we need sawed-off versions of every gun :PNext think we know it's this;

In any case, those type of people aren't punching paper with them. It's more useful if it can be concealed. Better than nothing I guess.

It's a game, it's not like it;s a real python.Yeah, if you wanted to, but there's a lot of things you can do in real life that they don't really need to spend the time on considering it's not worth it. Also, sawing off the front end of a Python to make a snub-nosed one would be a terrible idea, considering it removes the front sight on the end of the barrel. You'd be much better off buying a snub-nosed one than destroying the value of a $7,500 gun which will probably never be made again.

It would be too painful to ruin such a quality firearm.

Yeah, it's a cool gun, just not a realistic one for DayZ. Whatever, I'm not complaining, they've needed revolvers for a while and it was "community" made. gregor (DayZ) 95 Posted February 4, 2014 Yes for a carbine (because it is still used in Ukraine and in Russia, by some kind of militarized security services). Also many of them is used under other names (KO-44, KO-38) as hunting rifles.
