Demoth 366 Posted February 4, 2014 I've managed to kill about 9 people today in Balota, and 2 in the NW Airfield (TBG servers) I know, KOS is mean and it's turning this into DayZ Deathmatch with a sprinkle of zombies, but so far I'm pretty sure everyone I've killed was a server hopper. I generally have a good view of all the ways into Balota, so if I see someone coming from the North, South, East or West, I let them go... or at least, I don't shoot at them. I'm not a perfect shot. But yeah, I keep seeing people running out of trees, inside buildings and whatnot, and that either means they're server hopping or they logged out in those bases, which is a silly thing to do. Either way... stay outta my Balota! That there loot belongs to the good people who scavange and hunt, not you dang server hoppers!
Demoth 366 Posted February 4, 2014 Thanks for the compliment!I decided to take it upon myself to become the Bane of Balota after I ran through my TBG server today and kept running into places picked clean when I was the only one on there in the morning. After a server reset (I found a Mosin in a random house) I made my way to each Airfield. I checked the server periodically and noticed that 1 or 2 people would join, stay on for no more than 5 minutes and leave. Each base was picked clean.I then hear the familiar sound of an M4 loading in the room I just checked at the NEAF jail. I ran in and saw a guy just standing there fully geared. Put a round in his skull and treated myself to some awesome gear.I went upstairs and not a second later another sound of a Mosin loading. Damn you hoppers. I guess he heard me because we had a tense standoff with him downstairs and me upstairs in the jail. I go for broke and bust around the corner just spraying. Thankfully he was walking up the stairs backwards. Now comes the long Trek from the NEAF to Balota. Met some survivor with a Mosin and scope. Somehow we trusted each other enough to trade his Mosin for the MAGPUL M4 I took off the hopper and we went our separate ways without killing each other.I then made it to Balota, and the server reset. That's when I decided to hide in my special spot that allows for great coverage and where targets move towards and away so I don't have to lead shots.9 server hopper kills later, and I feel pretty good. I think I allowed 5 or 6 other people come and go, and I was checking names to see if perhaps people were just server hopping from way far off base, but oddly enough, if someone ran into Balota to loot and then ran out, no one logged off for over 30 minutes. And like I said, most people were coming out of buildings I had a clear line of sight on so they were logging in from inside the building. Then I would have to run back there, put their loot into the building and close all the doors so it looked like no one had been there.

Also I find Elektro very hard to fully cover, and I don't usually KOS in this game unless I suspect the person us a threat or it's a high value loot area that I'm scavenging for gear. I happened to have a long day at work. Grabbed a six pack, a can of copenhagen and some chips and salsa and posted up on a roof and layed waste to those bastards. On average a kill about every 10-15 min around the same area. Edited February 4, 2014 by SEC9 VANDEL
8bitkingdom 4 Posted February 4, 2014 Doing the same. Currently located at the mountain/hill behind the balota airfield hangars and snipe people who spawn on top of the police station and/or fire station. Literally every 5-10 minutes someone spawns with full military gear on either building, going prone instantly. Playing temple on my phone while I wait so I got that going for me ..
Demoth 366 Posted February 4, 2014 If you see a tree with a Mosin barrel in Balota on the TBG server, dont shoot it!!

eisenmaik 17 Posted February 4, 2014 It sounds kinda Deerhunter for Hoppers!.I have 3 main servers that i nkow the restart timers, every time i see a server is off for restart i join em and get into position near a airfield.than wait untel it restarts, join instandly and wait for my Trovys!. By the way, the best way to get a hopper is to snipe direktly into the 2nd floor of the jailbuilding, normaly they stand still for 5-6 seconds.and if u kill the first hopper aim into the door, they are more hoppers joining and they will stand still at the door to cheack the dead hopper next to them. If u want to master it, play with an buddy. He can run into the building , hide the buddy and close all doors and wait near the building.
infiltrator 275 Posted February 4, 2014 I do not understand the balota obsession. As someone who's just been playing for a few days, I've managed to survive and end-game my char 4 times before dying, I've never set foot in balota.. I just go north and into the mainland for loot. somethingbloody 118 Posted February 4, 2014 I think people stay on the coast because it is harder to get lost without the sea for reference (and newspawn killing). My first sixty hours were spent between Rify, NEAF and NWAF, skirting wide to the north and resupplying in Gvodzno. Go too far south into Berezino and you're likely to be shot. That said, I'm down near Balota now because I finally decided to check out Elektro, Cherno, Chapaevsk and Dubky. Cool area, very tense. Be careful, the TBG servers are run by a bunch of whiny middle-aged men who don't take kindly to ANYTHING. Literally. They'll kick you for an "indecent" name, killing-on-sight, "talking too much" when you're near one of their players, etc. If they find out you're camping an airstrip/field killing-on-sight, I'd put $100 on you being promptly kicked/banned. +1 for what you're doing, though. Tizzle 90 Posted February 4, 2014 Are there still people around Balota? Ever since the spawns changed I've found it to be relatively empty, whereas the NEAF (the balota stand-in for now) is always packed
