Would be great if there was a area you could meet and Trade (Swap) items you don't need for needed items.

You can meet and trade items anywhere in Chernarus. ;)

Don't you check on /r/Dayz? People set up shops by throwing stuff on the middle of the road and hope for the best.

If you mean 'safezones' they will never happen in this game.  Only the ones that players/groups enforce themselves.  If I want to trade you a gun for some food in a barn while my buddy watches over everything from a nearby hill that's what happens.  That or your 4 buddies kill my buddy and take our shit.
