Move DayZ to Take on Helicopter:Rearmed

Okay i know this is probably never going to happen, but still i thought i would toss my two cents:

Bohemia interactive is known for the arma serie, but recently they released a helicopter simulator, in their great community support they also made it arma compatible;

if you have take on helicopters, you can make it load arma2 and arma2 OA content, missions, and assets.

Obviously this means you can't join arma servers, since you are technically playing take on helicopters.

However, choppers in take on helicopters are absolutely fantastic, it's basically arma with proper helicopter simulation and startup sequence.

Also they are mostly CIVILIAN helicopters, the small nimble and bright colored types, which are the ones you are most likely to see in a post zombie world.

This would mean that chopper piloting wouldn't be a simple matter anymore and be a talent in itself, i could pciture a group busy refueling their flying home, the pilot player busy running the turbine startup sequence, and checking his equipments, trying to get his bird airborne as fast as he can to put his friends to safety.

More accurate chopperflight model, more gratifying flight experience for the pilot, more skill needed.

I mean it's wishful thinking because that would mean 3 games needed to play 1 mod.

Just wait for Arma 3.

It's supposedly borrowed a lot from the Take On flight model which should be what you're looking for.

Borrow nothin', they developed those flight models FOR ArmA3. At least, that's what I recall someone saying in a developer interview XD

Definitely just wait for ArmA 3. Then you'll be able to loot armor/clothes, more guns, maybe go diving for somethin' special. Who knows, but the most important thing is that ArmA3 /should/ be more optimized than ArmA2. At least, it very well better be XD

The majority of pre-flight checks are carried out solely to conform with the Flight Manual so the air operator doesn't get sued. As Pilot in Command you have the final authority to decide what is more detrimental to the safety of an operation (zombies or radio check). We can assume you are safe from a CAA investigation in a world where zombies are walking the earth.

TL : DR It is a nice thought but in reality those switches take 2 seconds to flick and pre-flight checks can be skipped in an emergency.
