mozeren 0 Posted January 31, 2014 I know this is gonna cost me a busted leg or broken skull..!! But thats what DayZ´s all about!? At least that is what I used to think ;-) I know its alpha... pre alpha... and all sorts of...!!! BUT in my opinion the balance has shifted in the game. From being kind of scary .... trying not to be KOS... finding friendly companions...and surviving on U´r skill to communicate and making bonds... TO.....! And this is where I think that Rocket... is thinking details to much.... a game where U are fighting against the "world" and your own body... the loot that you depend on is to scarse... and all of your "gaming" time is offered to looting buildings.... because U have to stay alive.. instead of making bonds... or KOS ! Your choise!! I know that Rocket has a great idea ... and was the first to see the potential in it! BUT...I´ve been playing DayZ since the first mod... and I cant help .... missing the time to play ... just play ... or... to be a bandit... or a hero.... without having to worry all the "game" time about .... having to loot "former miss. Prescoles" house in the hope of finding a rotten banana... that I absolutely neeeeeeeed to stay alive!!?? Don´t know if I´m the only 1 thinking ... that a great game potentetial just went wrong!? Spray painting your helmet....??? Is that a great gaming experience??? Dunno---? Not for me anaways! The grand experiences lies in ... searching the enviroment for things that make your character stronger and better, making bonds, new friends..... and/or enemies! Sickness, disease hunger and thirst just makes it harder... AND a better gaming experience. I really mean that... the details are impotant!! BUT the balance has shifted... focus is on the wrong details. And the fun and the gun in former DayZ is now hanging in a wery detailed thread! Just my input in a debate, that hopefully ends up in the best ... and first survivor game ever. Love U Rocket!!

Roshi (DayZ) 397 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Hey - firstly could you reformat your post - sentences and paragraphs are always appreciated. Second, at present I think the survival elements are far to weak at present but I appreciate that it's early days. Granted the scary vibe is important - hopefully that gets sorted as tje zombies get worked on. PvP is by far the dominant threat at present - in my opinion that needs to be equalled by the threat from zeds and the environment. knoCC (DayZ) 211 Posted January 31, 2014 I'd like to hear your thoughts on DayZ..the movie. (voice in back of my head) No I would not...
crimsonbzd 247 Posted January 31, 2014 Hey - firstly could you reformat your post - sentences and paragraphs are always appreciated.Second, at present I think the survival elements are far to weak I mean, as far as actual realism goes, if I've just eaten a good meal I won't fall over dead until 30 days have passed without food if I can find water. As far as providing a realistic gaming experience dealing with food and water, yeah, it's way too easy.I spawned on the coast earlier today, half an hour later I had a pack, axe, (empty) gun, and enough food and drink in my tummy to forget that I had to eat for like the next 8 hours.I had to log out in some bum-fuk of a little town and I'm hoping food has spawned there when I return... I actually forgot I had to eat in this game.

I'd say 'sorry to see you go' but my mum doesn't like me to lie. What!? You're still here? Then sit down and wait with the rest of us. Half of the features slated for inclusion haven't been created yet and some (most) of the ones that have are only in as basic placeholders to test the framework. This is a process that will take 12 months or more before we get anywhere near the game you can start to bitch about.
