It's a really great read, one part that made me decide to create the thread was this;

 

It’s the little details. The little wooden things they put beside the roads so the snow doesn’t build up.  :o

Well I personally thought that was an incredible interview. Dean sure comes off as a pretty down-to-earth guy, which makes me even more at ease that he is the one spearheading this game's production.

Hm, he doesn't mention anything about implementing snow. He only mentions that the map designers have such an eye for detail that they included "the little wooden things they put beside the roads so the snow doesn't build up".

 

Of course they are eventually going to implement weather and hopefully seasons, but the interview doesn't contain any information about that.

I would love some sort of a snow season. Would make it awesome for tracking and hunting, however, that sword also cuts both ways :D

the part I really feel unsure about with this game is how different it's going to end up from the mod.

 

I realize the "half-a-game" style play from the mod became intensely popular, and no i'm not asking for anything like a single player, I just hope this doesn't become a literal standalone recreation of the mod.

My point being I feel that to justify making a standalone version, it has to include concepts and elements larger than anything in the mod or even the sub-mods that followed.

From what he was talking about I don't think that will happen. I think he has big and very unique plans for this game
