Settings Bug

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a bug where my settings will reset everytime I open the game up. I am talking about everything. Key bindings, resolution settings, my name. Everything.

I havn't seen anyone speak of this issue so it might be something specific to me.

My thinking is that it could be the fact that 'my documents' is not physically located on my machine, but rather on my file server. I would rather not change the location.

Has anyone had this issue and do you have a fix for it?

Your thinking is right

After this was happening to me, I realized it had to do with setting the 'username.DayZProfile' file in My Documents/DayZ to "Read Only" after changing settings to enhance performance. The problem went away for me after disabling read only. Might not be the case for you though.

Ok it looks like it has not saved the .cfg files at all. Does it specifcally look for 'My Documents' as I have the folder named 'Documents' If I rename it would it maybe help? or should I just restore the location to my pc?

Edit: Just thought I would restore it and see if it made a difference. It seems it has.
