Population Control, Plz Help.

Recommended Posts

The number of people that bought and play this game is continuously rising which is usually a good thing, with a finished game. 1.  Being in alpha right now you would think the increased population would put more stress on the servers running them making the updates and bug fixes come slower right? <- I'm no computer expert tell me if I'm wrong please. 2. Most games entering beta testing usually limit the amount of people that have access down to, sometimes, a weekday where you can only play, and for only a couple hours or so then they bring in more people from what I assume is a lucky draw if your in.  Do you think they will be imposing population limits having only a specific time a person may play once this game gets farther?

No, i think this will be exactly the same as Arma 3 was.
Buy it at alpha and play all you want, no restrictions :)

The increased population would only affect the server host not the development team. Betas like what you're referring to usually don't have a lot of dedicated servers running. So to combat that they only invite as many people as they can handle.

1) No. More stress on the servers is actually a good thing because it means that a) The server architecture/server software can be observed in any form possible and b)more people in an alpha = more bugs found faster, new things get faster tested ina very large variety etc.

2) No, I'm pretty sure the Beta will be the same as the alpha. And the finished game ;)
