pale1776 375 Posted January 29, 2014 I would love to see this with effects. I hope players can at some point lose fingers, hands or limbs. Maybe use the patch to cover where it was gouged out. And scars. Maybe even have it so that when you shoot loud guns for so long, you develop a slight ringing in your ears. How cool would it be to see that guy running around with a revolver, one arm missing, man beard eyepatch and scars? These would be server dependent cause I realize a half deaf one legged survivor isnt the best when it comes to bandits...You had a freshspawn flip you off? Lets take that finger...The prisoner keeps getting out that burlap sack? TomJeff 12 Posted January 29, 2014 handcuffs were a practical implementation for restraining people you arn't sure about. Just to give an option to shooting in the face. DayZ is not a torture simulator. Thats emergent gameplay, not something the devs encourage. That being said, greater reprecussions for being wounded has its place. I mean, I'd like too shoot someone in the leg so I can stop them running away so I can rob them (only if they deserve it of course ^^), but I would then bandage them up and let them go on their way a few pounds lighter. But those few pounds lighter would be the lovely stuff in their pack, not their various body parts. How many pets have you secretly murdered in real life? Erm... lol. Especially since much of the media still caters too those who won't believe all the studies done into the effects of game violence and whether they correlate with real violence.
