Switching Clothes/vests/backpacks

Recommended Posts

Is it just me, or did the new patch wreck the clothe switching from bodies to your character?

I strolled around in NEAF with a friend, we saw a serverhopper in the ATC tower, killed him, noticed he had a shiny Press Vest, took it off his body and just replaced it with my Khaki vest, my Khaki vest then disappeared, and the Press vest was on my character, and also on the dead body.

My friend then proceeded to take a Canteen from the dead body's Press vest, and the Canteen disappeared from mine, as if the Press vest was some port to a dimension where they share the loot. /__\ (Hid the body afterwards so no-one could loot it anymore.)

Also another example with an M4 i tried to snatch off a body. I took the M4, stayed on body also, friend took an attachment, disappeared from my weapon, and the body's weapon as well.

Don't really understand how adding new content can destroy such "simple" parts of the game.

Did you post it in the Bug Report feedback form? Try and see if it is a repeatable bug.

There is a current bug where if you take an item off of a dead body that item also still appears on the dead body, and when it is taken again by another player it is removed from your inventory.

happened to me, I say you just take the stuff, and hide the corpse so no one 8 minutes later comes over and you notice all the food you just got is gone.

Are you sure? What if the first person who took is far away from the second person who took it?

If you don't hide the body it won't matter how far off you are, I would assume if you disconnect you will keep the item, but I have not tried it, we tend to just 'hide body' after everyone has taken what they need.

Just out of curiosity.....how did you know the player was a server hopper?

It seems every time I read about KoS the reason is always Bandit or Server Hopper! Just admit it ffs...you shot a player.

Then it's not a fact. I have left the body there unhidden for bait and I never losed my gear even though they have picked it up. That would be absurd.

That's why I said "pretty much every person", we have had this issue with atleast 9/10 bodies since last patch.

This. Very much this. I have tested and confirmed several times. I have punched out hostile geared folks and taken their stuff but as im strolling through the town someone will loot the body and gear up and try to kill me, so I have to punch them out too. (then I hid the body and didnt have the problem again on that server).

Typically if I get a good kill and want a lot of the loot, I take what I want and change servers Provided that I'm in a rural area or safe location (not a military base) and that I am not in the middle of a firefight or missing an ally (otherwise how would I cover them while we regroup D:). After changing servers you will not lose the loot, chances are the body will become unlootable no matter how often you try... or perhaps you can gain infinite loot from it. I usually hide them when I leave too to be safe but not always since they are supposed to poof after 10 min anyway.

I axed someone yesterday and stole his m4. As I was about to head to bed I moved my character to safety a couple of minutes away from the scene and disconnected. This thread made be go and start up the game today in order to check if I still had the gun. I did. So it seems likely disconnecting helps (the guy was in some barracks at a military base, which would make it likely that his body would have been discovered by other players).

Anyway I am going to hide bodies of my victims in the future, especially since this was a server hopper, and he probably went straight back to his body, though all his gear, including about 400 rounds of ammo, had been ruined by my making minced meat out of him with my axe.

That explains why we just shot a guy and friend took his mosin in exchange with shotgun. Shotgun disappeared and 2 mosins appeared.

You kill everyone you see at Military camps/buildings. That or the loot whores will rape you one day...

As for the dead body crap. Yeah, happens to everyone and it's a pain in the ass. Anyone notice you can't take off the RIS rail once it's been attached?

This is the problem or part of it that delayed the last patch I think.

I have had this happen often myself since then.

Seems like the items on a dead body are sometimes permanently tied to the body for some reason.

If I take an item off a body it stays visible on the body and on me as well, then if someone else tries to take the same item it will disappear off me and then be both on the body and that person as well. For some reason when someone dies, items are in a limbo state between the looter and the body.

You can take items as long as someone else doesn't take the same item that you took, otherwise it will disappear off of you. Just make sure you hide the body after you take what you want.
