Although I suspect it's from the mod because there is a town north of Bereznio that isn't on this map and a big a$$ shipwreck which yields awesome stuff.

There are some high yield farms we've come across not on this map either however for the most part it will help you get from town to town.

 

ProTip:  Use a tablet, smartphone, other computer (laptop) while playing.  My Buddy went to tab out to check the map on the same system and came back to the black screen of death "you are dead"

 

When we die (far too often) and respawn we look for town signs or have gotten used to the landmarks to generally know where we are and where to run to meet up again.

Honestly, I think the game is better without a map from the internet though. It feels 100% bigger when you're worried about getting lost.

You can find a list of the English names alongside the Russian in some wiki or other. I use it and it helps me get a vague idea of where I am.

 

I'd post a link but it's a 2 second google search and I am very much in to people looking for things themselves (i.e. lazy).

Indeed that is a good one however we use the DayZ Mod one to just generally follow roads when we don't have a compass and I find this one better for the roads. it's not that far off.

I've seen both but I honestly don't want to know what loot drops where.  That too takes some of the game away.

 

When I have a compass we're hardly near roads at all.

You can turn all the loot spots etc. off and then hide the thing on the right-hand side.
