Combat knife

Recommended Posts

I found one and decided to test it on zombie. After slashing the zombie five times, I switched to my axe.

Does anybody know how effective it is on human beings in terms of knocking them out, or killing them?

Blade weapons will almost NEVER knock a survivor unconscious, except through blood loss. Killing them? Too many stabs. I've run to survivors who were prone with their little scoped Mosins, stabbed them in the back until they stood up, turned around, and aimed at me, and then died and got to listen to them bandage while at the "YOU ARE DEAD" screen. >.>

Melee is just all around bad atm. Even in most real wars it really is a last ditch effort in any desperate situation. You also risk getting gear ruined to if your melee is not precise or worse dying without any cloth to stop bleeding if theres none close by.

But i have faith melee is going to get a HUGE overhaul once they start focusing on it when throwing weapons get placed in.

I mean, the game obviously has some animation fluidity problems currently, but that can be altered with time.

That's one thing. But having a Combat knife wasting two inventory slots that is better off used for opening cans (can It even do that!?) is ridiculous.

Edit: I will assume it will be subjected to change.

Honestly I wish we could get in on some action like this... with the knives, screwdriver, bayonets, etc... some sort of lock in animation when using the knife to let us just stab the bastards right in the brian... I'd even be cool with it if we had to wait for the zombie to go down before we could pull the knife out... because its definetly not as easy as the walking dead makes it look to just stab someone in the skull and pull the knife right back out like you just stabbed jello or something... but perphaps waiting till the zombie goes down then picking up the knife would make it a little less OP
