Molochius 2 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Okay so usually I am anti KoS, I usually hate coming across another player and before I can even raise my hand to wave or speak down my mic I am shot in the face. Just now I was looting the Balota air field, minding my own business when I bumped into someone, I cautiously asked if he was friendly, he said he was and he was unarmed and so I left him be then asked if he wanted to loot the rest of the air field, he said yes. So we proceed to loot a few barracks, I found him a m4, even gave him all my ammo for it (I prefer my mosin over the m4) and then he says his friend just logged on over near the control tower and wanted to go meet up with him. Obviously this sounded like a ambush, but being a nice friendly guy I said sure, but he had to walk in front as a shield in case his friend tried his chance against me. So we are walking towards the control tower and he's a little in front of me but not too much, his silence should have been a indication too my fate. A m4 or even more than one begins to fire at me from directions unknown to me, an that's how this scumbag ambushed me. Now I understand these things happen in a game like this, but I'm fed up of every person I meet turning out to be scumbag who takes my friendly attitude and betrays it. So from now on I am not trusting anyone, someone says their friend or group is near by, I am either leaving, or taking that person hostage and having their friend or group come unarmed and in my sights. Or just lay waste to the guy. I know this is being a scumbag myself, but I've come to realize in this game you either die over and over again by bandits and scumbags, or you play long enough to see yourself become one. why would you trust a random person anyway? are you not familiar with what internet anonymity turns people into? I have to say I will kos if I ever get the chance, why? because if not 9/10 ill be the one being killed, anyone who thinks otherwise has a lot more faith in human kindness over the net then me haha its kill or be killed i guess.Im new to the standalone but im guessing the playerbase is pretty similar to the mod and in those days the few times I trusted people or let people live and go on there way rather then kos I paid for it, usually with being shot in the back once said person got a safe distance from me. Its not gonna happen this time, im no bandit but if I see anyone making a beeline for me, particualy if they have a weapon....im taking them down without a warning. PhillyT 554 Posted January 27, 2014 I meet nice people all the time. But more than a couple times I bet people have felt I was the KOS scum. I started a gun fight in Zelenogorsk and died. When I respawned, I met four guys who helped me get back. The guys I opened fire on out in Zelenogorsk didn't shoot first. My buddy and I surprised them and they surprised us. Instinct dictated we shoot. I think that actually adds to the game. It is amazing and real. Four armed me in the middle of nowhere. Can you trust the other guys? Maybe not. In this case, we were the ones who were the assholes. My buddy finished them off, but in hindsight, we both had some guilt and regrets. But I would say about half the people I met are friendly enough. I keep my guns trained on them most of the time and I rarely arm anyone with a gun unless we have friends nearby who can finish them off and allow me to get my gear back. gorillaCHEEZ 19 Posted January 27, 2014 I didn't need to read beyond the topic title to give my beans, but I did read it. Typical Day Z Alpha story. Not dismissing your experience, but until human lives have more value in this game, KOS will continue.

michaeltimp15 0 Posted February 6, 2014 The way I see it ( whether plain wrong or naive ) is these betraying shits are very short sighted. I like to think I count well enough and 2 is better than 1. All I am saying is I see why he trusted him since he even found gear for him so why would you kill your ( sorry OP , no offence intended ) milk cow ?? Doesn't make sense to me in the slightestI feel the same way. When I was still on DayZ mod bout 4 years ago I had a friend who eventually stole all my gear, blew up my truck (forgot the name, the huge supply trucks...now that I think about it, its probably why he wanted to keep our gear in separate URALS!! I remembered it :D) and relocated our base. I found out where it was cuz im sneaky like that, and I flew a plane into his base (I feel douchy saying that, if anybody out there lost somebody to 9/11 im sorry, and I hope ur doing ok) and just left the server. Anyway, if you have DayZ standalone and you want a small alliance, contact me and ill hope to see you soon! (steam account is michaeltimp15)
