Weird Death?

Ended up playing a bit to see if everything with the patch stabled out. Was fully equipped and ready for anything to come my way.

I was heading up the coast and was about to leave Electro when I suddenly start to bleed out badly. No gun shots heard at all, no zombies around at all. I look around and see nothing. I check a nearby house quick and start to get ready to bandage and poof, dead. It feels like I was shot threw the house or something since I wasn't near any windows or doors when I started bandaging up.

Anyone else have this happen to them? Or am I just tired and losing my mind? Lol

You were probably shot from some one far  away with a long ranged scope on a mosin its got some crazy extended range with it however the person has to be extremely experienced to snipe some one that far. Its possible it was a hacker i ran into some odd stuff in the the last few weeks of this game being released.

Either desync, or you didn't hear the gunshots for some reason.

Were you near any high elevation places like mountains or buildings? Snipers like to hang around there a lot

Got couple of weird deaths too yesterday... Walked into room, Stopped and checked inventory --> YOU ARE DEAD. Friend checked the room within one minute and found nothing not even my body...

Second one Screen turned grey all of a sudden... Later found out that I was bleeding about 6 meters away from my body... This was genuine zombie hit i think...

I was playing and all of a sudden ---you are dead

no sounds etc. when i die to a gunshot i hear that.

i checked the player list, was only 6 of us on. and when i died i couldnt click respawn. 3 of the other guys must have died at the same time cuz i witnessed them relogging back on due to respawn button not working. watched them leave and return with the player list open, I  knew It felt weird as soon as i saw the words "you are dead"

 

before the last patch i was teleported with my friend into the air and my 3rd friend into the sea. all at the same time. 2 of us die and 3rd swims back.

Who knows man, I had a weird one the other day too. In the middle of some deep woods quite far north, crouched in a pine tree and in my inventory sorting things, in the pitch black moonless night, on a first person hardcore server with only 2 other players on it, and suddenly I hear what sounds like an axe hit to the chest, and I'm bleeding. There was no sound of a zombie anywhere, and there's almost zero chance another player would've happened across me, let alone seen me inside a pine tree in pitch black in first person.

 

edited to add: I definitely took damage from something, as my chest rig and jacket went from pristine to either badly damaged or ruined. (I don't remember specifically what they're final state was, I just noted that I'd needed to replace them)
