There's no reason to go to the NWAF or the north anymore (here's why)

why do you want to gather all the "end game warriors" into ONE small area on the huge map? stupid idea.

Its a GREAT idea. That way a grumpy old coot of a survivor like me doesnt have to be bothered with killing all those giddy ass'd weekend warriors.

Dude, it's Alpha, half the loot and gear are not even in the game yet. I would say like 10% of the gear is implemented. Wait for Beta things will go and be a lot better. Full-Release it will be amazing.

Full release is always amazing

I actually respectfully completely disagree with the OP. The two new southern military spawn locations haven't really made the NWAF all that much less active in my experience, but they have spread out more which locations are active. It means I'm more likely to encounter people around the map, while also meaning I encounter less people all at once; encounters have been more evenly spaced and paced.

In fact, currently, I avoid the two southern military spawns simply BECAUSE they've become so much more popular. They're more dangerous now, so I'm encouraged to head north and east. The way I see it, creating more high priority locations both in the North AND in the South will generally encourage people to roam the map in a less predictable pattern.

I agree, the mod had a kind of progression and territorial logic to it. It's gone completely from the standalone, aided by the removal of Berezino and Stary tents.. The NWAF is the only attraction in the north, and now there's no reason to even go there.

In the mod, it was a severely dangerous place, but with good loot. The helicopter crashes did kinda dilute it, but still.. it was possible, and likely, to encounter people from the coast up north to the NWAF. Even between Stary and Berezino. Now no one even talks about Stary any more.. there's no longer the 'powerline corridor' where hapless survivors without navigation skills wander.

I like that NWAF isn't the only useful area in the map. It spreads out the server population. In the mod it was annoying with everyone being in Cherno, Elektro, Starry or NWAF

Now everyone is in Cherno, Elektro, and Balota instead.

There is actually another military base close to the NWAF that makes the area more profitable than Balota, but I think the idea of giving the map more hotspots was the correct response to the relatively boring aspect of the mod. I never really thought the NWAF was as dangerous as other people made it out to be, there was always plenty of cover when going to the best loot spots and sniping people in those areas was never that easy. I died far more frequently in Stary and while I would often find players at the NWAF the engagements were rarely as boring as getting sniped at the tents in Stary.

Once more features are added that require exploration there will be people dispersed to different areas of the map including the NWAF. I hate the canned "its Alpha" response to every thread but in this instance the game truly is bare bones without any feature besides weapons and PvP. If base building is added or at least storage like tents people will wander toward the northern area to set up camp and once vehicles are added you will see people scavenging for those and supplies off the coast as well. If they made the NWAF the only place to find military loot at this stage of development quite a few people would quickly tire of the grind of running up to that area only to be killed by someone camping, so at this stage of development at leas you only had to run to Balota.

The point I am making is having multiple hotspots for loot will eventually make the game better, especially once server population increases. I do love the suggestion of having a broke down C-130 or something of value on the runway though, would definitely add to the atmosphere of the area.

That's a whole other conversation in itself...I never see anyone in the random towns not near Novy Sobor where people spawn or near airfields. In the mod, because the north was the place to be, there were always random people running around in the forests, and I often got shot while running by a treeline near an open field. Now I run across open fields with little to no worry because I never get shot as long as I'm not near Novy Sobor/airfields.
