NWAF fire house camper

Here is my story of an encounter with a camper on the fire house...

 

I was looting the west upper barrack in NWAF, checking to see if I could find an ACOG for my M4. With no luck, I decided to head down the the fire house but I decided to loot the little industrial places leading down to it. Didn't really find anything good so I went to check this one last shed house thing. Then as I'm just standing out side, I see some lump on top of the fire house tower and I instantly knew I was being watched. 

 

The lump of person shoots at least 6 bullets from an M4 at me WHILE I was standing still, and his bad aim shooting never put a bullet in me. I frantically ran inside the shed and shut all the doors. He popped a few shots at the door trying to scare me, but I stayed in. I decided to make a run for the hole in the wall near the trees and get on the other side for cover. Since I now had cover, I could peak around the corners and see him. I watched as he came down the tower but I wasn't at an angle where I could shoot him. He knew I was down here, so he started patrolling all over the fire house roof.

 

Then he decided to climb down the ladder that leads to the ground. I moved over to get a shot at him and shot 3 times at his body, and I think I hit him once. He started to climb back up the ladder while he was already half way through, and I shot 2 more bullets, then *POP*. His body is gone. I go up there to check to see if he is there an no body. He combat logged. That's the lowest shit I've ever seen. If you are going to go sitting around up on the NWAF fire house, camping it to try to kill unsuspecting people and steal their shit, but combat log when you fail to do so, that's really low. Gtfo out of dayz.

Roof camping is a big thing on 3pp server but no problem at all on 1pp only (hardcore) servers.

He prob didyn't know that crosshair in 3pp is 1cm too high.

Well seeing as I saw him prone on top of the tower, I'm pretty sure he was using his sights, if not that it's just bad accuracy from his gun.

1PP is the way to go. Way more intense gameplay. And like he said, you dont see many rooftop campers in 1PP... you expose yourself everytime you peak as oppose to scan the area being under cover while in prone position.

Anyway, the NWAF is an area full of campers. A friend of mine and me were looting the airfield, searched south east hangars, the barracks, fire station, tower etc. then I decided to go for the 2 remaining north east hangars. Since my friend got it wrong he headed to the south east hangars, we were split.

Almost there I heard shots. My friend died, has been shot by someone frome the fire station who just server jumped or whatever. I decided to take revenge and tried to sneak past him without being seen, which took half an hour.

I couldn't find him but was suprised to find my mates body fully equiped.

So the killer obviously joined the server, shot my friend and logged out.

It was a "non-pvp" server. We didn't payed that much attention, its just a name, people don't give a shit. My friend was new to the game and I told him in advance that he shouldn't rely on it, should be ready to fiht etc. He chose the server, it was his first time on the airfield. After he died, he of cause was disappointed and I told him, that there are some player that join non-pvp server only to kill someone. Well it still looked pretty idiotic. The *pownser* that joined the server only to do his "righteous deed" (to punish everyone who dares to join a non-pvp server), just did more wrong against the nature of the game than any non-pvp player one could imagine.

The irony generally seems to be strong in Dayz.^^

Well I hope from that you've learned that on 3pp server you always have to assume that on NWAF firestation roof there is a guy who maybe is a solo sniper or just a scout for whole group of campers that can see all around the firestation area.

 

Best tactic to counter this on 3pp server is to have one guy rush to check the firestation roof and second guy to cover him while he approches the firestation ladder, to eventually shoot a roof camper if he get up from prone.

 

And best is if you have always one teammate on NWAF firestation roof to control half of the airfield for you.

Nope, we already checked the whole fire station including the roof. He just spawned there, shot and disconnected.

This isn't even the point. There was no issue besides of the dude just connected, shot and disconnected. The disconnect was the point. No clue what the 3rd person / 1st person discussion is doing here yet again.

This might be something that they implement when they add a logout timer. I would absolutely LOVE to see this added. Too many times have I just wounded somebody and they run to cover and logout.

Hate seeing a new player get a bad break. But you can't take claims like "no KOS allowed" seriously. You have to know better. Like never getting in a windowless van with a hairy man at the wheel waving a lollipop.

Atleast he didn't ghost in and shot you. That happened to me and a friend this weekend. We were just arriving the NWAF from an epic hike. Got lost from the shipwreck, NEAF was looted. I took way more time than it should. Anyway, I have an M4, but only have like 21 bullets, my friend got a fireaxe. So we approach the firestation very careful. Seems like the roof is empty, and my mate runs in. Shots fired, cursing. He's dead. I think I heard both M4 and mosin shots, and hide in some bushes. Suddenly this guy rises from proning on top of the firestation. Starts to climb down the stairs. I spray him with some bullets, and he vanishes. Fucking logger. Well, I thought I heard an M4 too, so Im still sneaking around. Then I get shot from behind. 2 or 3 shots, but I run for cover. The screen is almost black and white, and very blurry. I quickly bandage up, and go searching for that other guy. He clearly couldn't shoot well, cause he was 20 metres away from me, and still didn't kill me. But I can't find him. Then, I hear a clicking sound, and see the sniper from earlier appearing just in front of me. He's not alone. Some guy with an M4 is just next to him. I have about 10 bullets left, and shoot the Sniper first. This time he dies, I turn and shoot after the other guy. I hit him with some bullets, but he just disappears. Logging again. Now I'm all out of bullets, but the snipers body is here, and I need his rifle. I sprint over, and start looting. This guy is a fucking dick. He had (I'm serious) 3 full ammoboxes with 7,62 rounds. that's 600 rounds! He also had 6 or 7 canteens with water, a magnum with 120 rounds, some medical equipment and of course a lot of beans. He must have been hoarding and server hopping for a while. Everything is ruined, but I'm still out of 5,56 ammo, so I take his mosin, and start running for the woods. Then I hear the clicking sounds of someone logging in again. The last thing I hear is shooting sounds from behind me. Where a guy I just shot logged out.

 

So in the span of 3 minutes, I encountered 2 combat logging, ghosting, server hopping assholes. Both of whom got pwned by my shooting skill and tactical knowledge. Both of whom got hit, logged out and then logged in again. I wish I had their names and a vid.

At both the NWAF and NEAF you will have the Hot Spawner's,a.k.a. server hopper's.. This is a normal thing right now and it will only get worse..
