Dayz standalone on late 2013 Macbook Retina

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just wondering does anyone who plays DayZ on their macbook noticed the fan gets really loud when playing the game? The game runs smooth and I don't have an issue with performance but Im afraid the laptop is going to overheat. I do have a cooling pad but I'm not sure how effective that is.

Please share your experiences. thanks.

Your problem is your Mac. They just aren't designed for gaming. I'm also pretty sure the noise is your harddisk and not a fan. A Mac that small can't possibly have a fan.

As a former mac user

Don`t use macs for gaming. They sell overpriced with inferior hardware and games usually don`t come with mac support.

Hm not sure how to do that and what temp to watch out for.

Nothing above 70 celzius is good. Look for some macbook temp monitor software

I hope you didn't buy the Mac for gaming... They're great for school, but not for gaming.

I have the late 2013 15 inch retina macbook pro with 2.3 quad core i7 haswell, 16 gig Ram, nvidia gt 750m (2 gig card) and I play skyrim on mostly high and some ultra averaging 60 fps and play dayz standalone on high settings averaging 45-80 fps.

The only problem I have is that the w a s d keys get very warm.
