Wernsley (DayZ) 8 Posted January 25, 2014 A small warning to one and all when dabbling with the improvised backpack: You have 2 forms: the courier one and the bigger improvised backpack one You create the bigger one from the courier bag by adding 1 more item, MAKE SURE YOU EMPTY THE COURIER BACKPACK FIRST, otherwise you'll lose all items left inside the courier bag
Maia (DayZ) 93 Posted January 25, 2014 I hope they make more craftable items like this (like clothes and suchwhat), in my opinion the best items should be craftable ones (maybe in terms of inv space items). Good tip though, I've confirmed this as well.
BadassPreacher 47 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) The improvised backpack is my new favorite. Although it only has 20 slots and is harder to find/put together than a normal one, it's worth it just because of the way it looks :) Edited January 25, 2014 by Badass Preacher
Maia (DayZ) 93 Posted January 25, 2014 It's very flat which is nice if you like to snipe (or even just lurk laying down at places or from places). You can keep your items without a bulky backpack sticking up through a window. It's also beige which makes it kind of blend in with certain terrains that most other backpacks (besides hunting) wouldn't blend in with. Generally I don't wear a backpack, but if I do decide to wear one it'll be an improvised one most likely.
overdosed (DayZ) 77 Posted January 25, 2014 How exactly do you craft the backpacks I didnt even know they are in the game(nothing about em in the patch notes, same with radios that work). Found that the courier pack is made with rope and a burlap sack, but cant find anywhere how the scavenger pack is crafted.
exogravis 13 Posted January 25, 2014 I just watched a video on this. Am I missing something in the patch notes? just re read it and didn't see any reference for this crafting option.
BadassPreacher 47 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) How exactly do you craft the backpacksRope + Burlap sack = 12 slot (?) one + Wooden sticks = 20 slot one Edited January 25, 2014 by Badass Preacher
Maia (DayZ) 93 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Some of the new stuff wasn't mentioned. You just drag the rope over the burlap sack and it gives you the option to craft the pack. Then grab sticks over your improvised courier bag and it'll give you the option to craft the improvised backpack. The scavenger backpack isn't in the game to my knowledge. And yes, rope+burlap sack = 12 slotthen add sticks to the courier backpack (12 slot one) to make the 20 slot improvised backpack. fitzee 248 Posted January 25, 2014 Hi. Does anyone have a screen of the 20 slot one, or at least can tell me if it interferes with 1PP. I know the 12 slot doesn't interfere at all. Regards.

FatboyTim 27 Posted January 25, 2014 I like it. I just wish the twenty slot version was 4x5 rather than 5x4, just so it could hold a sawed-off like the other backpacks.
