Tutorial: How to get items out of crashed heli's!

We've found two choppers today but none of them could be opened. We tried your technique, didn't work, so we kept on trying. After a while we both broke our legs trying to open it somehow, but still with no succes... Then we were like fuck it, so we're rolling to Stary Sobor armycamp on our ATV, and look! We see another fucking chopper... we repeated the same process over and over (without breaking our legs this time) but again, with 0% succes. We've found some weapons around the Heli such as the Bizon or FN FAL but they had one or no mags...

So theres a little trick I've found to see more easily if there's loot on the ground around a heli.. Get a ways away from it and look at it through a scope or binocs. If you're far enough away the grass around it won't render and you can see everything around it. It's a good way to see if there's a gun or if it looks like its been looted/bugged and/or not worth the risk of getting close. This doesn't work as well at night but sometimes I'll risk throwing a flare on it if I'm pretty sure nobody else is around.

Now though after seeing this I suppose it's good to always check "inside" the heli with your method just in case.

Also, the best loot I've found seems to spawn from the medical helis. They're bigger and usually have more loot. I think they're a lot rarer though. Just found an m240 saw with 3 ammo boxes on one :)

if u found loot around it then that was prob the loot all the choppers ive found never had loot scattered around it. Though i have found a box of loot once. Idk what to tell you works for me. Maybe someone already found it. If you have tried everything that was here and my two techs then prob empty. Found a chopper today and my thing didnt work but crawled under the tail and bam loot was there. Its DayZ its a pissy bitch.Cant please all women the same way!
