crasheralex 2 Posted January 25, 2014 Please when the leader boards down the road are created please don't put kills, deaths or k/dratio. The KoS problem it so bad already and this would only make it worse.
TheNorCalSniper 63 Posted January 25, 2014 I personally dont see a reason why people complain about KoS. Sorry, bud, but if this were real life.. Its you or me and I sure as hell am not going to risk being killed by some random person.Would it be cool if clans set up "safe zones" and maintained law and order in areas they claim? Hell yeah. I think to stop KoS, its going to take clans implementing some form of law in towns. That would not only make it more realistic but it would be cool to start communities and set up sentries to ward off bandit attacks.

The KoS problem it so bad already and this would only make it worse. I've not personally heard of leaderboards, but even so I'm sure there will be multiple factors. K/D, survival time, total survivors player, accuracty, murders, bandits killed etc
hogscraper 328 Posted January 25, 2014 Don't know that I've ever heard of a leaderboard system being implemented in Dayz. If someone has a link, awesome, but until then sounds like worrying about nothing. Also, KOS 'problem' in Alpha may or may not even be a 'problem' later on. But with leaderboards people would get out of their way to kill other players. They would camp the coast just to get easy kills from the newspawns to get their kill count up.Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know that they shouldn't be lingering on the coastal towns, but killing just for killing shouldn't be encouraged. The stats that, in my opinion, should be shown on the leaderboards are number of deaths, most common cause of death, current time alive, longest time alive, rarest item found, zombies killed, and things like that.
ChristmasLunch 52 Posted January 25, 2014 I think - by leader-board - he means the debug monitor?

I figure it depends if they implement an progression to endgame - bases raiding/defending and massive in-game groups come to mind - but right now I wouldn't even call KOS a "problem."What else are you supposed to do once you've got gear and a bunch of food and waterbottles but engage other players? King of kong 1117 Posted January 25, 2014 I hope there's no K/D Ratio. But KoS will never decline in DayZ SA. Not by a long shot. Especially since they're adding more guns
King of kong 1117 Posted January 25, 2014 What else are you supposed to do once you've got gear and a bunch of food and waterbottles but engage other players? Help people. Snipe zombies. Roleplay. Clear towns. Set up toll posts. Rob people. Execute bandit. Need I go on?

Completely agree. Very good point.
