It seems that every time I get shot its by someone with an M4, the last 4 times I have been killed are by people with M4s, so are there certain places I am not looking? Because in 70 hours of Day Z I have only ever found 2 M4s

Go to an empty server with a short reset period.

You'll find em.

They used to be extremely good and the players who haven't died from the previous updates (like moi) now have an M4 while those people these days still struggle to find them

There will be a character reset soon so there should be a lot less M4s floating around the servers

They aren't that rare. I found one in a school earlier today. Kinda mad cause i wanted a shotgun or mosin. And you usually have 1 or 2 spawn at each airfield or military base on reset, so yeah its kinda about being lucky and finding it.
