Booze

I have not found any topic about this, but I believe this game needs booze!

 

It could have different degrees (beer 5-6, wine 14-18, liqueurs 25+, distilled 45+).

An alternative would be mixing soda cans and alchool (in an empty canteen or bottle?) to create unique cocktails! i.e. Pipsi + alchool = Chernogosk Libre...

 

Drinking alchool could give energy but cause slower reflexes or worse aim. Abuse of alchool could cause puking or in extreme cases death.

well, alcohol should numb pain and make you quite more strong, in most cases.

 

But it would sink up your water reserves and probably make you throw up when the effect ends

I've thought about this also. Alcohol would be interesting and so would cigarettes/cigars.

 

Alchohol in small amounts would help you with pain, however there should be a very fine line where once you passed it you got very drunk, with your character's vision blurring and him/her stumbling around. Aiming would be very difficult so you would have to be ready to sit and wait for it to pass. Water and food should help to rid you of your drunken state. Over using alcohol could cause vomiting, dehydration, and unconsciousness(it would be funning if your screen went black but your character had a chance to keep stumbling around).

 

Smoking should be addictive. If you start smoking, the benefits would be a calming of your nerves when you smoke, but after you run out you would go through withdrawals and suffer from shaking. 

 

They would be a fun addition to a game that has few social emotes at the moment. I imagine your clan, stopping to eat. You pop out your flask and pass it around then light up a smoke. You only have a couple left so you ration them out to your group for food or ammo..

I like the idea, but i think they won't implement that simply due to the rating issues it could bring along with it.

Way I see it, Booze as a whole has a unique aspect to this game and when properly implemented I can see it doing great things for both immersion and utility.

 

For example:

 

Beers, Ales and Ciders being of a relatively low alcohol content could provide a flavour aspect and immersion in-game, a beer could "calm the nerves of a mild shock" or be used to treat pain in large doses.

 

Spirits and high alcoholic beverages could be used for many things, besides numbing pain they can be used as a crude disinfectant, a compenant for weapon crafting (fire bombs) and even as possible fuel for vehicles (yes some cars will run on high proof alcohol).

 

Wines could even be potentially added as a cooking ingredient for various meals once cooking is implemented, add a fine red wine to a stew to create excellant flavour and boost it's nutrional value
