Ram memory

Hello, i just realised something is wrong with my game.. i was checking something in options
then i saw this my video memory was set to 2048MB i tryed to set it highter , back to 8gb but the max is 2048 the game does not see the rest of my ram, what can i do here ?

It's talking about your GPU memory, not your RAM. If it's setting it back to only 2 GB, then I assume it's because you have 2 GB of GPU memory.

then how i had at the beggining 8gb ? 
i mean when i started playing, i had there 8gb selected.... ?

probably after this patch it`s set to 2gb and then started to freeze my game after playing 10-20 mins

i know for sure before it was 8192mb

You have RAM (random access memory) which plugs into your motherboard.

 

You would have 8gb of RAM installed in your computer.

 

You have VRAM (video random access memory) which is in your graphics card.

 

Your graphics card must have 2gb of VRAM installed, and so that is what the game is using.

 

The RAM and VRAM are two different things.

Video ram and system ram are not the same thing.

If you have a video card that has 2 mb of ram, then set accordingly.

DayZ will only use a limited amount of system Ram, never 8 gb.
