Gunshots and zombie spawns

Recommended Posts

One of the features of the mod is that I silenced gunshots don't just draw nearby zombies, they also spawn new zombies if you fire too close to any structure that normally spawn zombies when you approach.

I wonder if SA will implement a similar system. It might help reduce some of the KoS attitude, at least within cities by adding a greater level of risk to such actions.

Well now that you're talking about it, i went West of Balota last night, to a small town called Kamenka. Hardly any zombies there. But when i gunned down a few with the M4, they came running from every direction. Shot down 5 more, and axed about 4 more. There aren't as many zombies in Kamenka, i think.

From my understanding, when they get zombies working properly, zombies won't respawn if there's players nearby.  So as in the mod where if you had a backpack full of Lee ammo in the middle of cherno and didn't miss one shot, the zombies would keep respawning faster than you could kill all of them with the diner bell.  SA will be so that if you clear a town it will stay cleared (not counting wandering zombies) at least until you left the area.

Interesting. I hadn't experienced gunshots drawing any zombies beyond those which were already in the area. Perhaps it has changed.
