Super Noob questions.

Recommended Posts

I just bought this game. I have heard about it for a long time and bought it because I want to support the makers, and hope that it eventually hits beta, then a full release.  I do not have the time to devout to the game that some people do, watching videos to learn the game and such.  So, I do have some total new questions.

Can you kill a zombie without a weapon?  Like, can you just punch a zombie to death?

Second, I did one time manage to find a hammer and I couldn't really hit a zombie with it, was that more of a lag / video issue, or do hammers not kill zombies?

Third.  At one point I did manage to get a fire extinguisher and kill a zombie with it.  I tried to kill a second one a little while later, but to no avail.  Are there zombies with different health and what not?

Fourth and last for this thread.  Can I heal other people with rags?

A quick shoutout to the only person I met ingame who understood that I was brand spanking new and didnt just kill me, instead gave me a few tips.  I was following you to the first city I would see... then I was disconnected.. But I did take your advice and rip my shirt into rags every time I respawn.

Also.. to the people who snipe at others with clearly no items... really?  I get the idea of banditry.. I won't do it... but kill people who have nothing at all, that is not banditry, that is just pure griefing.

You can knock them out but I suggest running at that point.

Have never tried. Melee can take awhile to get the hang of. If your definitely hitting them I'd say dsync or hammers are just shite

As above

Have a bandage/rag in your hand and you'll see the option to bandage your friend, to stop any bleeding.
It does not heal them. You need blood to heal one way or another. Diet. Blood bag. Etc

Safe to say griefers are just part of the game

1: Yes, aim for their face and just punch them until they finally die

2: It's possible, but it's hard, really hard

3: I believe all zombies are the same in health

4: You can't heal them, they're used to bandage people that are bleeding, to heal someone you need a Blood Bag or a Saline Bag

Tip:

Here's the order of damage in all Melee weapons:

-Fire Axe

-Splitting Axe

-Fists

-Everything else...

So yes, your fists are more powerful than any other Melee weapon other than the axes.

Sorry don't take this as a personal attack but where do you get your stats for fists?

In my experience the fists although they have a good chance to knock down an opponent, seem to do far less damage than all the melee weapons,

I've heard many people say that all the melee weapons other than axes suck, I don't know if they figured this on an earlier build but I have been getting good results lately from the shovel in particular and think there is a place for the other weapons.

Due to all the resets and fresh starts, I've been doing a lot of melee testing on this new build and fight every zombie I see, as soon as I have a weapon to fight with. It's my view that I can kill a zombie much faster with a pipewrench etc. than just punching it.

Another advantage to using a melee weapon over fists is that the weapon increases your range, making it easier to kite the zombie and not take damage during the fight.
