Lol, that's half of what I spent on my processor alone. I'm running a $1900 build and even I get graphic issues. A $300 build? Not a chance.

I'm running DayZ on $180 gpu and $75 CPU. Lowest frames in cities are low 20s. Highest in wilderness low 40s

So...is my machine magical?

An alternative solution to that processor would be one of AMD’s APU or accelerated processing units. These combine the graphics card and processor in a single solution for the budget-minded consumer.

Well... that right there about sums up all anyone would need to know to answer the question.

hey I'm thinking of building a new PC for a budget of around $300 and I came across this build

http://toptengamer.hubpages.com/hub/build-under-300-gaming-pc

Says it's good for LOL and Minecraft but how would it do with DAYZ?

A good video card is going to cost you more than a 100 bucks for a decent 2GB card.  If you want to go on the cheap, I would check out some HP Pavilion desktops which are actually pretty decent, you can get a quad-core for like 4 or 500 bucks or so, then just get some extra memory for it and drop in a new GPU.  That's if you don't want to make your own PC from scratch.  .

What graphic issues exactly?  And just because you spent 1900 bux on it, doesn't mean you don't have a problem with your GPU.

Add motherboard, hdd, cd drive, case with fans, psu and ram and then we can comment on that one.

No it's not magical.

Make it 600 $ and we can start have a conversation. But it doubt you can build gaming PC with 600 $. Maybe 700-800.

All i did was trade someone my tiny asus aspire quad core dektop for a dell inspiron desktop that's dual core and put a 60$ 2gb graphics card in and 80$ 8gb of ram and i had 50+ fps in towns before this last update. so i only spent 140$ to run it perfect.

You don't need a beast to run dayZ, however. I'm on the process of upgrading, but I'm currently still using an old nVidia 1gb 260 gtx, and the game is extremely playable. They aren't produced anymore, but you can find them on eBay for like 20$.

That said, if you're planning to get a card that will still compete going forward, something like a 660 2gb card will last you a while and costs about 100$.

I had a 400$ pc and it hardly ran Gmod lol so no. you might get 8 fps.

Newegg sells a Gateway for $500 with a 3.7GHZ quad core/1TB hdd/8GB ram and a high end integrated GPU, it's still an integrated GPU but just slap your own GPU in their, and there ya go.  Personally, I wouldn't go with Gateway but that's just an example.

Computers are getting better and the costs are going down.

That's fair.

Free Case - Free server case from friend / painted / modified

$90 PSU - GS600w Corsair

$80 Mobo - Asus M4A79XTD EVO

$15 DVD Lite On drive

$75 Western Digital 160gb HD (I don't store a lot of stuff at all)

Free 180mm case fans w/ case (4 of them)

$150 GTX 660 gpu (typo earlier)

$75 Athlon II x3 3.0ghz cpu

$70 8gb memory

Just below $600 if it helps you OP.

Damn!...Im running a GTX680m and am getting 15fps in cites and 20 to 25 everywhere else.

These are my EXACT specs if anyone's interested (except I upgraded to 16gb of memory): http://www.cnet.com/laptops/msi-gt60-0ne-220us/4507-3121_7-35406334.html

I feel I should be getting a steady 30fps at least, with drops around the low 20's in cites, without turning everything off or to the lowest possible setting.

I know this game is a hungry beast at the moment, but a 4GB 680 should enough to not drop below 10fps regularly.

Any suggestions other than this? - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216291078#150061

Im sure it's a driver/GPU setting thats causing some lag, and the fact that I'm a noob when it comes to PC gaming...hence me spending $2,400.00 on a laptop a year and a half ago when I could have spend half that and got something twice as powerful. Wish I had known "faceplam"

i just got on and im doing perfectly fine with the new update, better than before actually.  My specs..

2gb nvidia 660m

16gb ram

2.3 i7 processor

I think a lot of people are forgetting to upgrade their CPU and hard drives.  The faster your rig can pull the info from the HD, the smoother itll play.
