Ingway 4 Posted June 24, 2012 This is becoming just another shootter with zombies to avoid wich are easily killed and dealt with... but i am also becoming that person who shots on sight, it's pretty fucking annoying when someone dosn't even respond back to you... Sutinen 635 Posted June 24, 2012 I have gotten shot TWICE at the military tents near Stary Sobor. First time I paid back to the guy by wounding him, the other time someone killed me. Seems like I have to shoot everyone on sight then. By the way, I had a bizon and a lot of food and drinks that time.
nerfed 8 Posted June 24, 2012 I got bored with shooting on sight. It's way more fun to interact with people even if you get killed 90% of the time. Without that communication DayZ is just a really slow version of any other shooter.I really don't see the point.Running around with mic on direct chat, constantly repeating "I am friendly. If you can hear this, please respond".Someone heard me, used the directional mic chat to his advantage to find me, and killed me. Fun.Near a barn. I'm hidden in the woods, and see a guy in front of the barn trying to sneak in.I turn on mic chat and start talking to him, telling him I'm friendly, asking him if he is, also telling him not to come closer.Guy doesn't respond at all in any way. After a few seconds, he starts looking for cover, moving from bush to bush in my direction.I flee as I don't want to get shot or kill him without reason. All he seems to have anyway is a winchester, and I have no interest in that. After running a considerable distance away from him, I look back and spot the guy in the distance, still looking around for me.Eventually he sees me from a distance, and he immediately shoots. He misses, I shoot back and kill him.

If you see he's actively chasing you with a raised gun... do yourself the favor and shoot first.
Vitzo 0 Posted June 24, 2012 That's two deaths. Also try something different than just saying friendly. Talk to people like you would open up any conversation to anyone in real life. I don't go so far as to run around talking just to have people hear me though.
Survivor Scar 1 Posted June 24, 2012 How about a system that gave you the name of everyone that dealt damage to you? And a way to identify people even on hardcore servers. If people were afraid of retribution, maybe they would be more careful about killing people. It would still be difficult to find your assailant, but if you had him in your sights, you would see his name. The problem is that names tend to pop up when looking at a bush with a player behind, so it has to be adjusted from the normal way names show up now.It would also be great to be able to see names of people in your group, so you would recognise them more easily. In real life recognising your friend would be easy, but in a game everyone looks the same without name tags.
