I personally or currently do not think "hard classes" are needed.

 

Simply because the game is or will be so complex that people will already specialize. In my group there's already a system planned where people specialize, and right now we already have roles. Also because of special equipment, which people pick, thus they specialize and focus on that.

 

As for "skills", I dunno yet.

I think that most of you are just "worried" about the word "class" and maybe i should choose a better way to call them. what about "ROLES" or "PROFESSIONS"?

 

my aims are basically two:

- make your life count more than your gear

- give another reason to cooperate instead of fight

 

imagine a situation like this: there is no class system. i have some gears that makes me an "hunter" and my friend has some gears that makes him a "medic" and we Exchange so now he is the hunter and i am the medic, we Exchange again and... you know what i mean. for me, it's weird; in real life if a surgeon gave his bistoury to a dustman he will not become a surgeon too.

I only want skills that everyone can learn like medical skills, crafting skills, repairing skills etc. but no classes and no weapon skills
