PhillyT 554 Posted January 23, 2014 So I know this has been discussed, but I was wondering if there has been any official clarification: 1. Are all servers now locked to GMT daylight schedules? 2. Do server operators have the ability to set day/night cycles, or do they need to lock them to a specific start time, which resets when the server resets. 3. Has the BI team stated what their future policies are on the day/night issue? Like many of you American players, I am really disappointed if I am going to need to play at night all the time. I am a school teacher and play for about an hour at 4:30pm EST and then another hour or so at 9:30pm EST. I ask because I know there are many sources for information like reddit etc. I only read here so thanks for any information you guys can offer.
weedmasta 784 Posted January 23, 2014 This is only because the server setting were reset with the update and were not updated by the hosts/renters.
Window Licker 504 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) I actually think the dev team went throu and actively enforced night time on all servers. Usually the servers will cycle day/night according to local time, but it was still light out when I got in game but all servers where set to night Edited January 23, 2014 by Window Licker

weedmasta 784 Posted January 23, 2014 I actually think the dev team went throu and actively enforced night time on all servers And they would do that because? Not a official word on it yet. Altho i think it was stated that "daytime only" whould violate the Terms ? Nightime isent as "bad" as People make it out to be really. If I am not mistaken, servers are allowed to be restarted to keep the desired time of day, so no, it doesn't violate the terms.
fitzee 248 Posted January 23, 2014 Hi. Last night there were some servers showing the server time of day as being daytime, and they were all full. So I'm guessing they still work. Maybe there was something about night that the devs needed to test, who knows. Regards.
thedavross 0 Posted January 23, 2014 I think there should be all types of servers when it comes to day or night not keen on the cycle as most people over 18 work or study through the day and means there only ever only going to see night servers which again im not keen on and nope it isn’t scary at night and to the survivalists you’d more than likely bed down at night get sleep as it would be far too dangerous run around at night so that arguments out the window plus graphically its awful at night I’d rather play the orginal 8bit wolfenstein better graphics : ) I know about turning alpha up but that’s bobbins too. Come on whats the verdict can we play the type of game we want to as I think choice is key and I bet the majority would prefer day servers any way! Search youtube for dayz most vids are recorded in the day, does that not tell you somat?
Greaves 131 Posted January 23, 2014 Nightime isent as "bad" as People make it out to be really. I'd love nighttime. As long as there's no gamma cheaters in the server.
