Poisonous Berries

Recommended Posts

I see that very soon they are adding "berry picking" and I for one think it would be an awesome feature if they added poisonous ones also. In order to tell if they are poisonous are not they could make it so the player must inspect the berries. (Poisonous berries could have a specific mark on them that determines that they are indeed poisonous).
I can just imagine someone leaving berries on the ground in a building and just observe the building from a distance, waiting for a starving survivor (who is oblivious to the fact they are poisoned) to eat them.

How about berries that give you the familiar message of "you feel warm shit running down your leg?

Those would definitely be bad berries. But yeah I totally agree with adding in multiple plants and fungi that might be safe or they might be poisonous as hell.

I'm not sure wether this will be implemented already on the update in the first place, going to have to read trough the update notes again, but making the berries as unchallengning as simply inspecting them would be kind of disappointing in my opinion. If there'd be about 10-20 species of berries, all with slightly different textures and/or colors, you'd have to know your berries before eating them. Making it one of those 'mother nature-knowital'-things, which would be fun i think.
