Finally found a Mosin, and left it there

Recommended Posts

I can confirm this bug. I found a Mosin on experimental branch earlier today and it would only take one bullet at the time. I did paint it with black and green spray cans before i found some ammo for it so it was a "painted" mosin.

sigh a lot of misinformation here .. i havent read every post and im sure someone else has pointed it out but mosins can hold 5 rounds and does NOT require a stripper clip to load up to 5.  Proof - I have one sitting next to me and have shot 500+ rounds through it, always 5 rounds and never with stripper clips.  You can manually load the gun w/ 5 rounds

If you were referring to my comment about stripper clips I already made a reply about that saying that I misread the post I was replying to.

should have just taken both guns. put the mosin on your back and take the m4 into hands. just kill people up close with m4, and if u need to snipe just put the m4 on the ground and take out the mosin.

I tried to figure out a way to carry both, and was unable to.

You just chambered it.

I remember seeing the chambered option, so if I had clicked that, can I not then load additional rounds? I kept trying to load after chambering.

Unless you have to load from the top - maybe thats it.  I chambered a round and closed the bolt, removing the option to load further rounds.  This is the most likely thing so far, as I have NOT been talking about the test build.

I tried to figure out a way to carry both, and was unable to.

empty your hands, put your cursor over the rifle on the ground in you tabed screen, bring up the options menu, select take into hands, presto you are carying two rifles.

Can we please refer to painted mosins as "tainted" ...thank you.

So yeah, this bug first showed up in the experimental build as was reported a few times from there.

Annoying that they let the patch ship with that bug still in there. Lost my Mosin to it today because I figured they woulda fixed that.

I know, you'd think it was alpha or something.

If it's a bug (which I hope it is) then I'm sure it will be fixed ASAP.

It can hold 5 rounds if you have stripping clips.  If not, each round needs to be loaded manually.

Stripper clips only make it easier to load ammo, they don't change the capacity. Loading manually just means you have to click every one into the internal magazine by hand.

Sounds like they are trying to implement loading round by round and its just broken ATM. Makes no sense otherwise.

For what is worth I've never grab or equipped a Mosin but

I heard it fired 5 times, which was.. WRONG! it is not a gas rifle

You should be able to put 5 bullets in the rifle, but when shot, press R to activate the bolt and chamber the other bullet

What you suggest could be interesting waffen, however most games will simply stick with an artificially slower fire rate and make the manual chambering of the round an automatic animation.
