How i learn to love 3rd person

I really don't see why people who like 3rd person on those that don't need to worry or argue.  Both options are available.  Both can be happy.

 

I do think there is some truth that 1st person only has a smaller niche and therefore attracts less hacks & grievers.  But for me that is only a small benefit.  Being an old time Arma & trackIR users I simply find 1st person better, especially when in buildings & trees etc.  I do dislike the fact that you can look around things and even see through walls in 3rd person, but i do like to admire my attire.. :)

If the OP had stuck to the points that 3PP allows unrealistic situational awareness vs 1PP which forces you to expose yourself to see someone (with obstructed, realistic backpack view when looking over shoulder) as opposed to name-calling this thread would have progressed much smoother lol. There is no arguing that 1PP is more immersive and promotes increased, realistic combat situations. As of now though, more people prefer to NOT have that for whatever reason.

if playing vs guys who have no advantage is easy mode, ok, same like playing against guys who don't use hacks is easy mode, is subjective thing

both hives have advantage and disadvantage but 1st person is more fair because at no point does one player have ridiculous advantage over other guy

 all know is more hard when you seeing less of gameworld also magic wallhack make pvp comedy easy (I know I used to exploit this shit to maximum)

You carnt put hackers into the same bracket as 3rd users, 3rd using something that has been a built in game feature from day 1 to those who go and download a 3d party appplication for hacks with the only purpose of gaining a massive advantage (like waaaay more than anything 3rd gives you). Theres a big difference in taking a peek round a wall you are behind....and looking at electro from sniper hill and seeing some green boxes move around showing exactly where players are.

 

The only reason for now that hackers prefer 3rd (as you said) is because the servers are full. If first populates then you could have he exact same thing. My main point was that if you always play in 1st regardless.....then your gameplay will only become easier on a 1st only server. As in not having to deal with "peekers". But because I enjoy 3rd a lot I do have to put up with them, but im not going to run to a 1st only, im going to try harder, play better, eventually overcome the challenge.....not just bypass it.

 

I see what you mean, you arent calling us all scum, just those who exploit and hack,and i agree. I also am not against 1st servers, I think having both is great and caters for a wider playerbase. Also it could bring in people from different gaming backgrounds, eg FPS players RPG players ect ect. That was one of the things i loved about the mod....it didnt matter what type of game style you were used to....It brought 3rd and 1st players together.....RPGers and FPSers together in an engine where they could all play how they liked. 

 

PS dont worry i been around a while, im used to reading your posts, i think i usually get the idea :)

Look, his skill with English is poor and that is being fair. However KoS has a point you are missing. It may change at some point but it looks like right now all the really serious "griefers" are messing with the 3PP servers. That is humorous.

Think of DayZ as a bar/pub. There is a 3PP Pub and a 1PP Pub. What he is trying to say is not that every person going into the 3PP pub is scum, but that some of the scum around the town go into the 3PP pub and not the 1PP pub, at least so far. He isn't calling you scum. At best he is laughing at the fact you have to hang out in the same place the scum hang out in. 

Now he did say some disparaging things about people who prefer 3PP. I do know one thing about 3PP, it makes combats dull as hell because you end up with side A in cover watching through 3PP and side B doing the same. The first one to break cover gets shot. In 1PP you can actually pop out and lay down suppressing fire on the other side's cover which might make them keep their head down while you move to flank. In 3PP the just shift to where the bullets are not hitting(since they can see where they are hitting too) and pop up in another section and shoot you since they can pre-aim. Popping out to provide cover fire has it's own risks though as the other side might already be up and looking for you and shoot you as you come up, but doing so means they are visible and they could be shot if you are quick enough... 

It is basically a whole different dynamic and much more interesting.
