Dracoreaper7 0 Posted January 20, 2014 I am posting this here as i am new to DayZ and would like some help with these issues. My experiences in DayZ always last less than an hour, as I end up dead or with a black and white screen and just quit. I can never find any loot, no matter where I check. I can go to Balota Airfield, Cherno or Elektro on an empty server and never find anything (I don't just mean useful items, I mean nothing will spawn at all). I also have issues with zombies continuously spawning in an area without me leaving it.For example on my last attempt I went into Balota, then got 18 zombies to follow me into a bush where I killed them all with my hatchet. I returned to the airfield and another 12 zombies had spawned, so I did the same thing. Come back and another 14 had spawned. Once my kill count had reached 50, I decided to ignore the zombies. I checked the whole airfield and all I found was an empty M14 on a dead player (who had nothing else on him) on my way out of the area. This whole time I'm pretty sure i was never far enough away to trigger a respawn (less than 50 metres).Could anyone explain what I am doing wrong, or whether there is a bug that could be causing these things. This game looks amazing and I would love to enjoy it, but these issues make it impossible to get anywhere in the game as i can only use the things i spawn with and i tend to die really fast. meat pie 632 Posted January 20, 2014 It could be the server?
Dchil 829 Posted January 20, 2014 This is the SA sub forum, not the mod forum. I assume that you are playing the mod as the zombies seem to respawn, and the M14 isn't in the SA. If you are playing the mod then please search there.

Pics or it didn't happen) then it could be a bug.You say NOTHING spawns but you found a hatchet and a dead player with stuff. What exactly is your definition of nothing? Have you found any hats, food, backpacks, clothing? DayZ is not supposed to be overflowing with loot. In fact, weapon spawns were recently decreased. Try searching towns away from spawn areas and heavily looted airfields. Edited January 20, 2014 by NeedsFoodBadly

Dracoreaper7 0 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Whatever server i was on spawned me with some stuff. The dead player had the spawn items aswell as the M14.I think i read that server resets respawn items, so i may have to look for items after one. I'm still not sure what to do about the zombies though, they just wouldn't stop spawning. There is a screenshot of my kill count, it was 44. gerbilschooler 229 Posted January 20, 2014 You're playing the mod there buddy. Loot will spawn when you are within 150 meters or so of the spawn points... so will zoombies, however. Server restarts do not dictate loot spawns in the mod, player proximity does. And, I'd imagine you just need to play a little more to learn which buildings spawn what kind of loot and where you need to go to get what you are looking for
TYS 25 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) As well you have an infection in the screenshot. My analysis of your predicament is this: - In the recent patch a number of things changed, you may be confused about what you may have seen/played in previous versions. - First thing to inflict you is the new loot spawning system. Now loot is related to player proximity (75-35m, previously 125-35m) and takes a while to spawn.Long story short, if you run in too quick the loot won't spawn and you will have to wait/come back later. If you wait within the proximity for a while the loot will spawn. You may have to do two runs through the same building. Now I run through the buildings on my loot run at speed then do a circuit and come around again slower. - Second thing to inflict on you is the way damage from zombies is taken and related blood calculations. Now you bleed a lot less than in previous versions. Now you will take on-hit blood damage with a chance of infection; bleeding is a bit uncommon now. Viral Zeds (distinguishable by bloody character model) deal more damage and have 4x chance of infection. Avoid these. My conclusion is that now you are getting infected/taking blood damage far too often. As well you are finding less loot, thus making your survival chances drop even further. My suggestion for you is to become more stealthy when entering a loot area. Not only will you avoid more zeds you will give yourself enough time for the loot to spawn. Also don't go to high-traffic areas (Airfields, Major Cities etc) these are often looted constantly, leaving you with empty cans. Goodluck..
