Can you just take stuff from people's backpacks?

Recommended Posts

My friend says if a person isn't moving you can just take stuff, but I don't think it works that way. I know sometimes when I try to put stuff into someone's pack it just drops on the ground

You can take and insert items into other players backpacks, that being said they don't have to be still just close, also, the reasoning behind the items falling on the floor is due to the backpack being full.

A quite funny feature I might add.

"Where's my M1911?"

"Oh, I don't know." *Troll face*

Pretty sure in Arma II proper (maybe one of the expansions like BAF) you can lock your back pack and only your team has access. So I think (may be wrong) the engine does make it possible to lock backpacks. It's just we don't have the option.

I had just finished raiding the apartments and hospital in cherno on a solo run, and was heading in town. I'd stopped to look around back towards the apartments. I turn around and all of a sudden there's a guy behind me. He had no weapons, so I didn't kill him. I took him to the apartments and got him some of the guns I left there. He refused to communicate with me though, so I just took him there and left immediately before he could shoot me.

About 20 minutes later, I look into my backpack for some blood bags and morphine, only to notice that all of them were missing. My backpack was suddenly half empty. The little bugger snuck up behind me and took all my stuff, I didn't even notice! Absolutely hilarious.

I've decided I'm going to try to do this myself sometime, probably whenever I die and am on a fresh character, since if I have a gun and get that close I might as well shoot or get shot.
