pinkdino99 13 Posted January 18, 2014 Rip the t-shirts into rags before you start bleeding + hotkey bandages or rags.Eat everything you can as soon as you can - a hotkey for the food makes this easier.By maxing out consumed water + food levels your healing rate is faster after damage and also frees up valuable space.Ammo magazines can be emptied so you again save space by stacking ammo.Blood types are different, find yours with a blood test kit (write it down !) and only accept a transfer if you know it is a match. When a zombie attacks, back off slowly until it lunges at you, then it'll pause for a second, long enough to bash it's brains in with an axe, bat or wrench. Ignore shovels, they are only good for digging holes to bury your friends and family. If someone handcuffs you .... JUST WIGGLE !A wiggle with hands raised (F2) is the universal signal for friendly.Bandits usually wear masks. If they don't respond to voice chat and they are armed, shoot them.If you are moving stuff around in your packs and have a full inventory, don't put anything valuable on the floor, sometimes it'll just disappear. Other times it'll take +10 seconds to reappear. If you hear a gunshot run for solid cover (head down, zig and zag!). Don't just drop down in the grass as sniper rifles will still see you. The draw distance will not let the long grass you are hiding in show up in their scopes. All tips as of 17.01.13 - likely to change with updates

UnicornDroppings 23 Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks for the tips!I don't know if this is true but I heard that if you get handcuffed, it could take up to 30 minutes (real life minutes) to actually wiggle out of it...
Khad (DayZ) 293 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) A wiggle with hands raised (F2) is the universal signal for friendly.A wiggle with hands raised is the universal signal for take time to aim for the headshot and have my beans!/fixed If you see someone, HIDE and figure out, if he has seen you. If you want to be save, flee. If you want to interact, stay in cover and talk to your opponent. Never trust anybody, because he said "friendly". NEVER! Edit: Have some beans for the other points, OP. rickenbacker 190 Posted January 18, 2014 Ammo magazines can be emptied so you again save space by stacking ammo. When a zombie attacks, back off slowly until it lunges at you, then it'll pause for a second, long enough to bash it's brains in with an axe, bat or wrench. Ignore shovels, they are only good for digging holes to bury your friends and family. Mostly good advice, but I have a slight issue with these two. Why empty the magazines? Ammo only stacks to 30, and the most common magazines take 30 rounds. Might as well leave it in there, so it's ready for reload. An alternate method is simply to run straight at the zombie, swinging your axe at the right moment. Keep going, and the lunge will miss you. If it's a fireaxe, one swing is enough, a splitting axe takes two.

If it's a fireaxe, one swing is enough, a splitting axe takes two. 30 round magazines takes two slots in the backpack, 30 rounds of ammo just takes one (even less if you got a 300 round ammo box). Collect double 30-shot mags or 40 shot mags and just empty all other mag types for the ammo. It is extremely rare that you will get in a gunfight that takes more than say 2 double 30 mags and 2 40 round mags. Of course all this is moot if you prefer the Mosin. It is a nice spacesaving weapon, and you don't need as much ammo, since each bullet is much deadlier than the m4s. pinkdino99 13 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Sorry that was a misspost - "Why empty the magazines?" Simply because the magazines come in x10, x20, x30 and x60.As a noob guide it's prudent to keep the biggest mags and ditch the small ones. Some peeps may not be aware that if you come across a small mag, you can still empty the shells into your inventory. As I just posted in the post above yours (but clearly not read) 30 ammo stacks only take up 1 slot in inventory, 30 ammo mags takes 2. It is a question of space. If you've got enough, then by all means leave the mags, if you are sparse on inventory slots, empty your mags and just use the far more space and ammo efficient double 30 mags and 40 mags.
pinkdino99 13 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Sorry Badash, that was a misspost due to internet floppage.Due care and attention to carefully read and understand each post before replying has been taken.Sorry for the confusion there, have some beansIncidentally fyi, you can also stack x60 if it comes from a x60 mag which also takes 1 spot Edited January 18, 2014 by pinkdino99
BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted January 18, 2014 Ah, I see. I should have known from the fact that it was completely similar to a previous post (I have noticed that the forums sometimes screws up posts in various ways). Please disregard my answer to that post.

You're doing it wrong! You need to get a 60-round mag and start stacking ammo in 60-round stacks.
