Suggestion: Lootable zombies and loot not bound to certain "areas"?

I haven't played the mod, so no idea if this has ever been tried or done, but I personally think it would be neat to find things like weapons, ammo and the likes on some zombies, as in make them lootable. Not all mind you, based on what they were before they turned, the state of decay and whatnot, may not find anything at all, but I still think it would be cool to kill a zombie or 7 and find 5.56 ammo and a tactical vest on on one. 

 

Also... I know that loot spawns in different spots all the time, but I don't really like the idea that most military gear and such is found only in military bases, wouldn't they have been activated to help people all over the world during the apocalypse? I would think the gear could be found anywhere, and should be 100% random as to the location, also creates a more spread out scenario instead of NW Airfield and whatnot being considered "end game"...

Sounds like a great idea! Was about to suggest the same thing but found this topic.

Especially now these military zombies have been added it would be nice to beat one down and find a bit of gear (which would most likely be in badly damaged condition, but hey it's better than nothing!)

The civil zombies could have batteries, hoodies and all that kind of stuff on them.

 

Although I wouldn't add any weapons to that loot-pool, since if they had weapons before they were bitten, they probably would've been able to defend themselves.

I tell you one better. What if zombies had IDs with their address and keys to their house? There would be some closed houses you could access by killing the zombie owners.

looting zombies and corpses (there must be some corpses everywhere) is a good idea. Nonetheless, anything looted on a zombie should be ruined, badly damaged or at least damaged (if you are lucky).

About your idea of looting military gear outside of the military places, it's like this already. You can find some military weapons especially in police station and a bit everywhere.

 

In my opinion, it's not so realistic, because the military would deploy for help people, and first thing they would do is disarm civilian. First because they should think they are able to protecting people without arming them. Second, to keep power and control. Then third, for prevent people to shoot soldiers, other survivors and turn to banditry.

 

Even when the army collapses and soldiers flew the field, if they left some gear behind them then it would have remain in the military bases where army uses to stay, OR it has been looted already by survivors and now can be found on formal survivors corpses or zombies.

 

So the circle comes back around...

No military gear in military bases and barracks and road blocks etc. You're not going find an m4 in a lighthouse...
