i dont have a screenshot , but i got mine at the police station in polana, on the shelves downstairs in main lobby room. logged out to do some shopping , went back and there was a shovel in the same place.

I found one here on the ship wreck in Riffa on the South west coast near Guba..

 

Love the ship, I was shocked when I found it. I took some nice pictures, have a look on my steam account.

I don't have a screenshot but in the town building that are on the corner of streets. Very large, with a café type area down stairs and that you can go behind the counter to access the back (past a curtain). If you go upstairs and check the bed I have seen them there several times.

Thanks to everyone sending in some spawns, I'm trying to confirm shots and get better pictures. Updated the thread now with some new spots! And I am aware that mosins spawn basically everywhere but that hasn't necessarily been confirmed I don't believe. Also, some spawn points seem substantially more frequent than others, and they are listed in this thread. I'm just giving newer players an idea on where to look. Thanks again!

Saw a crazy spawn point for the mosin, not sure if anyone else has seen it or knows how to get to it safely.

At the northern train station on top of the second small building the mosin spawns (furthest from the station). There is a treehouse style ladder on the building right beside it and I did climb up there. The only way I could see to get from one roof to the other was jump. The first roof has a red guard rail around it. I think the jump could be made, but I doubt it could be used from the second building back again. It looked to me like you would have to fall off the roof, probably breaking a leg. I was carrying an M4 and fairly kitted out, except no morphine (so I passed).

I am actually surprised the mosin can spawn in all these places. I have seen it in the school several times, an industrial building, a car, and the train station. Despite being the first to all these buildings many times before, it has just never popped up these places for me.

Found a Mosin on the second floor of the construction site building near Cherno (the same as in Berezino, those with the yellow crane besides them). I was originally looking for a PU-Scope there, as I like to start with a scope and then get the Mosin.

out of the times ive found mosins 1 time was inside the top floor of a hospital  (that singel room) but it was angeled in away that it was halfway in the wall and couldent get pickedup.

other then that every singel time its been in a destroyed car.

hell got to an empty town yesterday with a friend and me and my friend searched 5 cars and out of those 5 2 of them had mosins.

From my time in the game so far, I've learned that most solid structures and two-story homes spawn decent loot.  If you come across a brick building, cement building, big home, etc you will find something worth keeping.  Obviously places like the shipwreck, cities, and military zones are also hiding great things.

I've also found ammo in many of those spots. One time I came out of a city with at least five boxes of 20 round 7.62mm

Thanks so much for this! I knew about the red brick building with archway, as I recently discovered a Mosin in one. I had NO clue about the cars though! Until now I have walked past them and totally ignored their existence - I shan't from now on! :D

That's what I was worried about, just like in most games lower graphics = less vegetation =  better visibility.

Berezino. Berezino. Berezino.

 

There are multiple Mosin spawn locations -- a school/hospital bldg, orange brick houses, red brick "arch" houses, "piano" houses, etc.

 

I was there this morning and found one on the top floor of the hospital. I found two more during my looting trip northward through the town. This was all within 20 minutes of my initial spawn in Solnichniy! I've never found so many Mosins so quickly before. The problem now is finding some 7.62 ammo!

 

Not sure how the new northeast town (Svetloyarsk) will change the dynamic, but unless I get the super-rare Novy spawn, I'm running to Berezino to gear up from now on.
