Just bought and finished downloading! ...keeps crashing...

I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and can help me out. I just bought the game and am very excited to play. Whenever I start it up, it has the blank screen for about 10 seconds and then gets to the Early Access Alpha Warning thing. After about 2 seconds it crashes to desktop saying it has stopped working. I have installed fresh drivers and have no idea what might be causing the crash. Ideas?

For starters try verifying the game cache in Steam.  While you wait for that hopefully others more knowledgeable than I can help you.

I verified the game cache, still crashes after 10 seconds after the menu comes up.

 

When it first starts up is says: Warning: Forced Triple Buffering requested but not applied. 

The problem error it comes up with is "BEX"

You might want to try going into Catalyst Control center and seeing if you have presets being forced on DayZ from the Catalyst center and, if so, set it so the game has complete control over graphical settings.

Everything is set to defaults in Catalyst Control Center. I have no idea where that "triple buffering" thing is coming from, there are no option in CCC for triple buffering.

That AppProfiles.dll, I believe, has something to do with Catalyst control center... maybe you should update/reinstall drivers and catalyst center

And, BTW, triple buffering is V-Sync, if that helps

Got rid of the triple buffer thing at the beginning, but still no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest catalyst drivers, same error...

its not vsync although it is related in some cases if properly configured.

Got it sorted out finally. It was a conflict with some other program I had running. Unfortunately I'm not sure which one. I just went through task manager and stopped everything I didn't recognize.
