karting29 1 Posted January 16, 2014 Hey all. So I've got an M4 and a magnum, just shooting my M4 reveals the bad accuracy.what attachments/scopes do you guys use to make the M4 more accurate? Is it affected by metal and plastic parts? Would appreciate peoples setups to make mine better thanks all, Luke
Tabris07 159 Posted January 16, 2014 ACOG is my favorite at the moment. I normally find them in the tents on the South end of Balota Airfield. I've rarely seen scopes in the storage units by the apartment complex Northeast of Cherno as well, but I don't know what kind they were.
GeordieMarv 293 Posted January 16, 2014 Having badly damaged parts can "allegedly" decrease accuracy in the guns. At the moment the tooltip for the actual gun itself doesn't work in standalone. So it may be that the gun itself (not your attachments) is damaged, but you can't see it because there is no tooltip. I tend to just use the RDS or Holo scopes, but this is only because I've heard the ACOG scopes don't work properly. Whether this is true or not I am unsure...it's just what I've heard. gamerer 65 Posted January 16, 2014 Bipod is pretty much the only thing that turns m4 accurate, but you still have to deal with the bullets catching terrain at spots (bullets seem to hit the ground in forests for example, good luck using it there), so that's a good place to start from Sights and other things are just for show, the stock ironsight is pretty decent. If you need to put things like dot sights or acogs on it, you mind as well go and pick up a mosin

The aim as far as I know IS affected mostly by the buttstock because if its in a bad condition the recoil and aim will be terrible. You can find most or all of the attachments at the airstrip's or the airfield. (( Inside the hangars and Police stations or Military stations however you prefer to call them )), AND the military bases, tent's, barrack's ETC. Here are the best attachments in my opinion : The RIS allows you to put attachments on it, for right now it's just the flashlight, but I'm sure more will be added. Then this is the M68 CompM2 optics. It doesn't zoom in alot, maybe just a little bit. I think they use a battery for the red dot sight, though again, not sure. OR, you could use the ACOG. It isn't bad, even if it's a TEST, it aims and fires accurate shot's. It is good for medium range combat, to aim it properly allign the two lines in the middle that go sideways with the persons shoulders I think. Or just shoot the head if you're not that far. Then there's the buttstock that affect's your aim allot. As I've said, the worse condition, the more recoil. The bipod increases your accuracy dramatically, you should always set it to it's extended (( deployed )) state, since it will increase accuracy not only when you are prone, but when you're crouched. (( Applies for mosin as well. )) Well, and other attachment's are just for cosmetic's (( M9A1 Bayonet, Silencer or Suppressor )) since they don't do anything for now. Good luck. -Dovis Edited January 16, 2014 by Doviszxc
PiLLZ 55 Posted January 16, 2014 damaged weapon parts make the gun inaccurate, pristine parts make it accurate, my M4 has all parts pristine and shoots very accurately, theres no ifs and or buts about it, it is the law of the land in DayZ
