It makes me sad...

Recommended Posts

Does anyone actually play dayz or experience the same things as i do?

Joining a populated server you expect a lot of active players however within 5 - 10 minutes of playing you move from bottom of the list to within the top 10 and any longer than 30 minutes i'm always within the top 5 longest players on the server... this is really disappointing to me just how many people jump in and out of servers purely for loot and why are they joining full servers in the first place wouldn't they think that the loot will already be long cleared in a full server?

It's turned into an epidemic of people playing the game purely to hop servers for 'gear' than actually spending more than 5-10 minutes in one server at the moment i've been in cherno for 20 minutes yet to see a soul on a full server and i'm now 6th longest in a full 40 man server in less than 20 minutes. i'm certain most people in the forums aren't part of the problem but this whole trend of playing the game for gear is really ruining the overall experience and that makes me sad.

Could be that they're having desync issues or something and there for decide to change servers? I had massive issues with desync before, making me jump from server to server to server to server to... (well you get the picture) in order to find one that I could actually do something on, considering it doesn't make sense to join an already full server for loot I figure that they're not server hopping for loot at least.

As much as i would like to believe that, it would also imply that over 75% of people are having desync issues i just don't think it's the case, part of it yes but overall i don't think that is what's happening purely for the fact if over 75% of the player base had desync issues that were that unbearable these forums would be filled with a lot more desync rage!

But i do agree that desync is an issue and is probably part of the problem.

I think on full servers people are not on long because they get killed fast and respawn button does not work, so they exit when dead.

But I noticed when playing on low populated servers last night (Cus the 3PP:Off servesr where all 0/40 to 2/40) People would pop in just for loot, loads and loads of hoppers. Even started taking screen shots in case I ever get board and want to make a list of name lol. So when I did final come across a fire station it was looted, but the whole town was untouched. Did even bother going to an airbase as i'm sure I would just be shot by a random hopper.

Who cares. Nobody does anything in high pop servers other than shoot up new spawns out of boredom.

lol well me obviously :P i like this game because of the situations with other players thus not being able to interact with other players (good or bad) does make them game boring for me.

I will hop till release, i just do not want to waste time go on north airfield etc spawning point and find out thats was looted long ago.

Just hop, get items you want, then i join normal server and survive normaly(do not run like crazy, inspect every corner, trying to create full map etc.

sometimes i just visit special buildings and loot only them cause i know possible spawn points for some loot.

Try medium pop servers. They seem to be balanced more and don't have as many problems with hoppers or people camping the shore. I can certainly tell that I run into people more often further inland in those servers as well it feels like. Usually makes for a pretty enjoyable experience.

I spent hours getting my gear. Only server hopping I do is If I'm looking for a particular time of day (Day if I'm tweaking graphic settings or out hunting, night if I'm scrounging or broadcasting dinosaur sounds from Jurassic park to freak people out or hitting one of the major cities as my frame rate is an average of 10 fps higher all around), or if I know I got disconnected someplace I really don't want to connect on  a populated server (Like the middle of cherno or halfway across the southern Airstrip, you have to be a special kind of stupid to voluntarily log into a loaded server in the middle of a field in one of the most contested spots on the map). Personally though I don't often run into people aside from the two I regularly run with. Though I do tend to explore, hitting a lot of the random small towns that don't get hit up for supplies a lot. If you do happen to see me around though, feel free to flag me down, though. Just don't do it with lead. I'm most likely to help or drop you some supplies or run with you a bit for protection, but you point a gun at me I won't hesitate to gun you down. Just sayin....

hopping bypassed my gun control campaign :P If I find a good server , I may go and pick up all the guns I can find and hide them (haters gonna), making DayZ a little safer. I did ask the zombies to not let people have guns until they did a background check but they just said, "Brains",  looked in my ear and walked away.

hahaha that's actually funny i do similar if i hit a military base and theres a few good things in it i don't need i take them all out and drop them in the small houses in the towns outside the military areas! reward the people actually looking for supplies and piss a few people off at the same time it's all win :P
