i don't listen to music while i play, because then i can't hear anything that's going on around me, while that's not so bad in the real world, it's pretty key in dayz. Use alt tab if you have that much of a death wish. don't be dumb and ask for useless additions to the game here.

Walkie-talkies aka radio communication is part of the future updates.

Concerning iphones and every other type of cellphone,in a zombie apocalupse they are preety uselles.

Even if you have electricity to recharge your phone,i suspect that the company providers will be on a long break due to the apocalypse.

The only thing you could do with them,is use the camera and play Angry birds.

Or plug your phone with music/radio/other audio into our PC. Pretty sure you can make it play it.

Or have earphones on from phone.

I don't really listen to music when I play DayZ. There are other things to listen to and try to pay attention to. Lol'd at that soldier with his ipod on. all i can think about is the useless character at work with headphones on all the time YELL AT HIM CUZ HE CANT WEAR ONE EARBUD.

It would be cool if there was a abandoned radio station playing the same old loop since years. That'll explain why there are so few songs in the game and would be realistic.

Being a person whos been in and lived in those god awful tents you guys are sacking every day let me add a bit of personal experince.

 

1.  The creature comforts make the world go around.

 

2.  If electricty can be made someone will figure out how to charge your protable devices.

 

I can remember sitting in my tent stearing at the ceiling wishing to god I had some music.  The reality is you could use a smart phone that way (ended up doing that for a few deployments) Ipods, mp3 genaric players that run on AA batteires etc.  For those of you poop pooing it, finding one, finding a battery after you ahve all the other gear might be a bonus for some players.  Add to it say maybe you can play music from pandora (simulate a good collection of music), or just from your own MP3s on your computer, and slide it down to background noise might make the game even more fun.

 

I see a value in this big time since I went through not having it for a while, and just like food diversity, things like this will make a real life survival situation a little more tollarable.  If they want to be real bored and assholish they could useing Android phones with SD card slots (different sizes) and headphones, add to that a charging cable then you have to find a camping stove that charges it or a car and make it run. 

 

It wouldnt be on the top of my list, but if I had to bug out in a zombie world I wouldn't leave it behind.
