This will never be implemented. There aren't markers showing where you are in real life, so there shouldn't be in the game.

i think what he is talking about is how in the mod if you shift clicked on the map it will have a marker that will tell you how many M you are away from it.

 

but this is a left over from arma 2 and I doupt it will be in SA

GPS will be a lootable item in the game. But for someone that needs cheats to navigate the map, I can't imagine you'll find one too easily.

I hope not, I enjoy the raw navigation, it separates the easily confused with the veteran survivor

As it has been posted above, do you get a player marker telling you your location or a distance marker (ctrl + shift + Lmb) in real life?

If you cannot figure out your location from the roadsigns, buildings and landmarks littering the landscape while ALSO looking at your map, then perhaps this isn't the game for you. Rocket has said many time that this is meant to be a tough, unforgiving game. It is not a game of convenience. As well don't tell me that all trees look the same and that you are stuck in a forest etc. There are many ways to navigate in the ArmA engines, for example you can follow the power lines or this:

I understood that getting into Day Z, Although. I still have a gps in real life. Why not have a gps in the game. Another option I thought of would be long distance communication.

HOW?

 

WaLKIE TALKIES...

 

So if I have one. I can communicate to all of my friends that have one regardless of where they are on the map.
