Colorless Screen

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm new to the game and have one question now.

My screen is kind of colorless, everything seems to has a touch of grey.

I'm not bleeding and I ate a lot (about 4 cans of food) has anyone an idea what the problem is?

In the last time i fought against 5 Walker and fell maybe 2 meter from the first floor.

BEst Regards

Even if you stop bleeding your screen will be colorless until you either get a blood transfusion or eat and drink a lot and start healing.

Start Healing? Will this just happen or is there something I have to do? I mean.. ok I will eat more but anything else?

Eat more, you need to eat at least ten cans of beans or a pack of rice and enough water to reach the healing/healthy status.

Basically eat as much as you can.

oh and check the sticky.

Saline IV or Blood transfusion, Saline IV is the easiest because you do not have to worry about blood types, just have to worry about finding someone trustworthy, try making a post to the TMW, they're the medics :D

Here's a detailed explanation:

Your screen loses color as a way to say you are low on health. There are quite a few ways to restore health. The main 3 being:

Blood transfusions (Requires a buddy, a blood test kit, and an IV kit to administer, heals around 1/4 of your blood, or 1000 points).

Saline Kit (Also needs a friend to administer. All you need is an IV kit to administer it, and it heals all of your health, or 4000 points.)

Health Regen (This one is more complicated. In order to achieve the regen of 3 points per second, which I believe is the max, you must eat about 10 cans of beans, or take 1-2 nibbles out of a pack of rice. Also, you must fill your thirst meter. A good idea for this is to scavenge for about 10 cans of food, or a pack of rice/powdered milk. Eat the rice once or twice, and then spam drink from the pond 30-40 times, until it says your stomach is full. Then, check your character. A status effect should show up in white text that says "Healthy". This means you are regenerating the 3 health per sec. If you don't have a full stomach, but you are CLOSE to it, it regens slower.)

Hope this was any help. If you still have questions, I can answer them. This wasn't the best walkthrough, but I haven't played in a while, so I digress.

Woah woah woah, you're giving off all kinds of misinformarion right now, you're just going to confuse people. Loss of color, also called desaturation is a sign of low blood, not low health. Low health causes your vision to go blurry. Blood level and health are two different things in the standalone. Also, if you are injured and achieve the healthy status, it shows up as "healing" until you get to full blood.

Ok,

but the Thing with eat some cans of Beans/Spaghetti will work? ^^

Sorry ;D

Eat and drink everything you can find and you will eventually be ok. You will be ok not eating all the time but drinking often is essential. I believe 3 sips from a canteen every 30 minutes is sufficient to keep you healing at your maximum. If you don't have a canteen just drink from wells/cans or just keep eating (since most foods contain water). Avoid dry foods unless you are at a well and will be able to drink a lot after as these dehydrate you.

You need to eat and drink until you start getting the messages that you are full or stuffed. Then, after some time, you will start healing and get your color back. It's not instantaneous.

Sacriel42 on youtube does an absolutely brilliant explanation of how the whole system works...

Watch this video and Part 2 and you will understand precisely what is going on.
