When any type of weapon ( or fists ) makes contact w/ anything except a person or air, there is a sound that resembels a gunshot. 

I know this has been brought up before, but I felt like bringing it up again to get it fixed in an upcoming patch. ( Don't hate )

Agreed this needs to be fixed, although im quite sure it has been mentioned many times. On the bright side it can really scare the shit out of people.
