A couple of questions from a newbie

Recommended Posts

Hello there my fellow survivors, bandits (and zombies?),

Let's cut to the chase.

1. Can I toggle walking/running/sprinting without having to press constantly 'W'?

2. Can I bind a key for server disconnect without having to go through the menu?

3. Is there any kind of console (like in CS) so I can check what damage I've taken/given?

Sounds like you are playing the wrong game. You have to be at the keys to run/walk, you need to be looking around checking your surroundings.

There is no need to disconnect quickly or disconnect often. If you want to end your session, just do it right.

If you take damage, lose blood, your screen will give you an idea of how bad.

Your question #2 just screams combat logging or server hopping to everyone.  Personally I think it would be awesome if there were a 10 second countdown ANY time you want to log out.

1: No there is no auto walk at the moment.

2: NO! What are you? A combat logger?

3: No there is no console for players. Why would you need it anyways?!

Wow a lot of bashing been going here. If any of you is bothered by my questions you can simply ignore them. I don't need moral lessons or whatsoever.

My 2nd and 3rd question are mostly derived from my CS experience because I'm used to log out simply by pressing F10 and checking the damage I dealt or taken by other players by opening the console.  Is that a crime?

Hello there

There is a reason you are getting these reactions.

Its due to the fact you are asking how to achieve something that goes against the grain of fair play to the majority and that some see to being akin to a cheat.

The answers are:

There is no auto run.

You cannot bind a key to log out quickly.

There is no legitimate console command to check damage.

basically the game will not handhold for the player.

And all of these questions have been answered a 100 times already. Doing a forum search could have revealed the answers to your questions and saved you from the grief.

As the title says I'm a newbie to this game and people already started moaning about terms (combat logging) I don't even know.

I've done my little research on google though and I can assure the little moaning babies that I don't need to avoid ANY combat. I have a fair amount of years in CS and from my little experience in Dayz I can tell that aiming and recoil control is wayyyy easier here. I have out-played every enemy on 1v1 even on 1v2 clutches so far.

My beans to the ones who replied in seriousness.

No. Auto run is not available.

2. Can I bind a key for server disconnect without having to go through the menu?

No. If you want to combat log, do it the normal way like everyone else!

3. Is there any kind of console (like in CS) so I can check what damage I've taken/given?

No.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you want to play CS, why are you here? If you need the validation that you're a hardman to come from a stats screen in a game, this is probably going to be a very disappointing experience for you.

Sorry, but it had to be said.

Then your research skills are woefully lacking. This is a failing on your part, and as such is completely in your power to rectify. Spend some more time reading the wealth of information already here. Start with the beginners guide and the other stickied posts at least in the Announcements, New Players and General catagories.

Oh, and we don't care what sort of hardman you think you are in CS or here. All I'm seeing from your post is someone coming across as a 12-yro troll, and from you responses to other posts, this seems to be the correct conclusion to make.

Welcome to the forums. Now go use them as they're intended.

And who are you to tell me why am I here? A nobody? You show your lack of intelligence by judging me from 3 technical questions. I have really good experience so far owning low skilled players who can't * even aim my chest on 2 meters distance. Probably you have the same skill thats why you bitching so hard. Lol

Somebody had hardtime on CS... Lol Too bad you can't play on European servers to show you how it's done, bro.

So, you spend your time talking nosense, raging and owning yourself with your invalid arguments. Productivity at its finest. :)

Oh, nice to meet you btw.
