I never played the original, why is there 3rd person?

Recommended Posts

Day z was never described as an fps shooter game, it was never the next competitive deathmatch shooter. It was a zombie survival RPG, and described as a social experiment in its early stages. 3rd person is an integral part of most RPG games, it helps the player build a relationship with there toon as they see him/her interact with the world around them.

Everyone assumes that people are using peeks and looking over walls, well I use 1st for combat and 3rd to soak up the atmosphere while running around. Am i putting myself at a dissadvantage in combat? maybe, but i dont really care...most battles are won based on who got the drop on who. When you are being spotted over hundreds of metres, it dosent really matter. Its not like "omg...he peek'd round that city and saw me!!".

For me split servers is an acceptable solution. I have friends that play on both, so i will be making a 1PP toon soon. But i will still always prefer to run around in 3rd, and get a true feel for Chernarus :)

How about you don't force your play style on me - You wouldn't like it if people forced you to play friendly now would you?

What if I said the only way you should be able to enter first person is if you're using your weapon? You'd be pretty irritated, but that's exactly what you just said about third with running. You're trying to restrict the way -I- play, to suit -your- play style, which is a two way street.

(This isn't meant to be an insult in anyway, I'm just sick of the two faced arguments of "You should be forced to play like ___, but you can't tell me how to play!")

errr read the post "It would work for me but is unessasery due to the fact you you can just go on a 1st person only sever"

its is a workable sulution but is is NOT one I suport

the chouse between 1st and 3rd person servers is all thats needed in my opinion
